We were on a Globus tour and it was my birthday. When they found that out they upgraded us to the honeymoon suite! The hotel was beautifully appointed and even had air conditioning. Everything was plush and very elegant. The service in the dining room was excellent and the staff was attentive to all of our needs. The only downside to the hotel was that we did not have more than 12 hours there!

Room Tip: If you are having a special occasion by all means ask for an upgrade-

We recently took a tour through Ireland and was fortunate to stay at the Killarney Avenue Hotel. A very nice location and the accommodations were very very nice. Comfortable room and a very charming place. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Wonderful bar in the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were very good. I recommend you checking this place out. THe town streets are a block away across the small park.

Great night at this hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer. Close to the main streets. Felt comfortable wondering around, the room was spacious and the hotel bar was quaint. Wish we had more time here

We loved this hotel. It's right where you want to be. All the shopping and people-watching and restaurants you could ask for are right there. The staff was so accommodating and friendly.
We headed out to sight- see and shop but both nights that we were there we ended up in the hotel bar well into the night. The live music was great and it seemed like this was the favorite bar of all the locals, too. Our tour bus driver even showed up with his beautiful wife in tow. It turns out he lives in Killarney and was able to squeeze in a date night. What a fun spot !!!

Room Tip: PS Not sure if there was a pool or not.

While this hotel has some very good qualities, my experience was not favourable. The hotel is a very old and well-preserved building with beautiful features. The lobby is quite awe-inspiring, until you have reason to need assistance from the front desk staff. I was traveling with a coach tour group, with this hotel as one of our 2-night stops. On arrival we received our keys and went to our rooms. We had some time before dinner, so many of us attempted to access the complimentary Wi-Fi to catch up on what was going on at home. When the hotel's identifier failed to appear on my list of available networks, I went to the lobby, where I tried unsuccessfully for about 15 minutes to make a stable connection. While I was so engaged, several of my tour-mates converged on the front desk asking for assistance. The two women at the desk both vigourously assured all of us that there was nothing wrong with their WI-Fi, that we just didn't know how to use our devices and that really, what was the big deal. One woman even whipped out her own cell phone to show us all that the Wi-Fi worked just fine. She implied that the problem was that too many of us all tried to connect at the same time. It didn't work "just fine" - apparently one of their routers burned out - and even after 48 hours there was no reliable connectivity.

One of my tour-mates' whirlpool bath didn't work. The ventilation system sounded like we were right over a subway grate. Several wake-up calls were mishandled. And the way the dining room manager said to us " You're with the ****** Tour? All the way to the back," bordered on insulting. The breakfast buffet was poorly planned so people were walking into each other as they tried to get their food, and of all the breakfast buffets we attended over 2 weeks, this was the least appealing. But it wasn't all bad. The staff in the pub all went beyond expectations. the waitress offered an excellent suggestion for a late dinner and the bartenders were very accommodating.

Room Tip: As for a room that doesn't overlook the tenants in the building next to the hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights while traveling Ireland solo. The hotel is on the edge of the Killarney Natl. Park, which is beautiful, but also a few minutes walk from everything the lovely town has to offer. Front desk staff were so helpful. The decor had old world charm and elegance without being stuffy.I had a nice clean room that had a view of the park. The bathroom had a really nice Jacuzzi bathtub which came in handy after a long day hiking and viewing Muckross House and gardens which is a must see! My breakfast was not included but I did eat once in the restaurant and it was nice. I had a great unexpected stay since my originally booked hotel the " Evinston House" had overbooked and they automatically booked me there; glad they did! Also, the whole area/town was very safe and had no problem walking around at night.

The hotels pub is the best in town for a pint and dinner in the pub, price for dinner without drink under 10 euro. And the bar girls are very easy on the eyes and of course very pleasant. The locals also welcome you in and treat you like one of their own,
