“Fantastic Family Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Recently we again stayed in the Killarney Court Hotel on a 3 night weekend break. We always choose to stay in this hotel whenever we visit Killarney. The reason we pick this hotel is because of its wonderful staff who are always most helpful and look after our needs, especially our daughter who has special needs. The food is of a very high standard and always consistent in quality. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a top quality hotel, and we are very much looking forward to our next visit to the Killarney Court Hotel. Thank you for all your help in making our visits most enjoyable.

Just stayed here for two nights, bedrooms in need of some attention and very warm even with the window open all night. breakfast was included in deal €129 for 2 nights for 2 people good value and the breakfast was quite good with a good selection of hot and cold. All the staff were friendly and helpful but the bar lacked any sort of atmosphere. even though there was nothing particularly
wrong with this hotel i don't think we would be in any hurry to stay here again

Room Tip: try get a room not onto carpark

Rooms- a little dated, could do with modernising, but clean. We requested a double and actually got a double with an extra single bed. This was needed as the mattress on the double was not very comfy so I slept on the single bed.
Shower changed temperature dramatically- watch out!
Ask for a room at the back as the main road is a little noisy if you have the window open at night.

Amenities- pub attached to hotel, serves carvery lunch as well as sandwiches. Pub prices similar to Killarney town.

Location- good location, right on the ring of Kerry, a 10 min stroll into town. However there are plenty of bed and breakfasts along the same road and closer to town.

Food- average, large portions...plenty to keep you going! Didn't have breakfast here.

Staff-friendly and helpful.

Price- steep considering the rooms are dated. Mainly paying for location and I would expect the bed and breakfasts down the road to be cheaper.

We stayed at this place for 2 days. Everything was okay -spacious room, very quiet.
The bathroom was spacious and very clean.
Breakfast was nice with a lot of choice for everyone.
Special thanks to the receptionist Danielle, who welcomed us in a very friendly way.
Danielle, we did the Skelligs and it was great.

Saw a great offer on Donedeal for this hotel. It was for selected dates and the offer was buy one night get the second night free on a bed and breakfast basis. The dates suited us to go so we immediately rang and was fortunate to book it. The weather was gorgeous and very hot( fortunate again) but was a little worried about the heat in the room so I brought my own fan from home and hoped for the best. I requested a large bed as in a five foot bed but on entering the room saw a massive seven foot wide bed. The room was fab. Check in swift and pleasant and informative staff. Yep I was right the room was very hot so I asked for a fan rather than be cheeky by just walking in with my own and as expected they didn't have any but were fine about me bringing in my own. I couldn't fault the hotel about the heat as in fairness we are having unprecedented weather in July. The room was spotless very very comfortable bed and fab shower. Now to the breakfast!!!! I was a little dubious at first as the cold buffet is not very appealing on the eye but as they say never judge the book by the cover. This has to be the nicest hot buffet I have eaten in the last two years at least and I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Ireland. There was a fine choice also available on the menu on the table which you could order. The second morning was no different. A fine breakfast again. Hot tea and coffee which I always find is only lukewarm in some hotels. I really could not find any fault with the food or service. I made it my business to see the manager to pass on my thanks to the hardworking kitchen staff that made or stay very enjoyable. I would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again very soon. Best part we paid 129 euro for our two night stay. Where would you get value like that. A ten minute walk into town for some great Irish music so no need for a taxi. All in all I love Killarney and it was made extra special by such an enjoyable stay in the Killarney Court Hotel.

This hotel is a hotel situated just as you come into Killarney from the Limerick direction (just off the roundabout) To me it would be a little dated as small things stood out such as the wood on the staircase handrail visibly scratched or chipped, but it does have all the facilities that you need in a hotel in this location as there is so much to see and do in the countryside & town, you won’t be staying long in the hotel. The hotel has parking outside but can be limited when it is busy. There are 2 petrol stations beside & across the road to grab some snacks and even a wine shop if required, it is also approx 10 mins walk into town for all the bars and restaurants

We booked room only on Hotwire and check in was easy. Wifi is free although you have to get a code per device to log on. The first day it worked perfect on my iPhone (although a tiny bit slow), the second & third day it kept dropping.

We were on a room on the third floor looking out onto the back of the hotel and as it was unusually hot the time we were there we had the window open 24/7 and had no issues with outside noise. As mentioned it was about 27-30oC the entire time we were there and the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning so even with the window open the room was quite stuffy.
The room is fairly big with a double and a single bed, office table, side table, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer (didn’t use it so don’t know how powerful it is) and a full length mirror.

The bathroom was a good size with the shower over the bath. It wasn’t a shower bath so the sides slopped in, they do provide one of those shower mats to put in the bottom and there are handles along the side to hold onto. The curtain pulls along the side of the bath rather than curving out so when pulled it can seem a little enclosed. The pressure was good in the shower but I found that it kept changing from hot to cold quite quickly at times. Small toiletries are provided but as per all european hotel washcloths aren't

Although we had room only we did have breakfast during our stay, this was €10 per person for a full breakfast & €5 for a continental. The breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast with cereals & milk, croissants, apple & orange fruit juice and fruit and yoghurt, although the fruit was only orange or grapefruit segments and prunes. It would have been nice to see more variety of fruit. The hot section had scrambled eggs, fried eggs, black pudding, beans, sausages, bacon. Toast, tea or coffee is brought to your table. There was a card on some of the tables which seemed to imply you could order different alternatives but we were happy enough with the buffet.

We never ate dinner in the restaurant but did have lunch in the bar. The Caesar salad was nice but the Cajun chicken ciabatta was not what we expected and was chicken covered in a creamy sauce. But both were fine.

We didn’t really have much interaction with the staff but when we did it was fine. They were professional and efficient and when we asked at the desk for recommendations for a meal and then drinks after we got some good advice.

Overall this was a good hotel to make a base for exploring the beautiful Kerry countryside

Stayed just for 1 night with my wife on an internet b&b special offer.
Reception staff friendly and efficient on check-in. Room average size. Bathroom lovely. It was obvious that bedrooms and bathrooms had been recently refurbished. Drove into the town centre and had a great night. Left the car parked in town centre. Taxi back and no bother with a drink from the night porter. Nice guy. Comfortable bed, slept well. Breakfast was adequate the following morning. Walked ten minutes back to the centre of Killarney to collect my car.
Overall, I was happy with the hotel. It was bright, clean, friendly staff, great value and --- yes,I would stay there again.
