We stayed on the edge of town. The national park has many walks, albeit they are busy in July. Some great scenery and very relaxed place.
We took a jauntiness car into Muckross house, the Torc waterfall and after a long drive from Cork this was a good introduction to the area.
The weather was unusually warm so we tom the car up to ladies view. The traffic was annoying but we still enjoyed the trip.
The town is very touristy, but they work if well with Irish charm so for a base to the area the town is great.
Ideal for Dingle peninsula which we also visited.
I would return to the area again as it's great to egg to nearby places and if we had longer for bike rides, boats and walks them area would be perfect.
Ladies day at the races was on whilst we were there so it was very busy.
