There is so much to commend about this place. 1 km from Ross Castle. 15 min walk Main Street of Killarney, a very gracious hostess, don't miss the porridge for breakfast. We stayed two nights, and could have stayed longer. Great value!

Great quiet B&B on a large block of land with plenty of parking.
The bedroom was an average size (more than adequate) & the bathroom large. Our ground floor room had a dressing table & a couple of chairs, & cupboards for hanging clothes either side of the bed head. Our room looked over the front garden which was very pretty. The B&B is easy access into town (we had a hire car) but it is still walking distance if you don’t. We liked the fact that Ross Castle Lodge is near the edge of town so the house wasn’t surrounded by other houses.
Near the entry of the house there is a lounge with TV for guests to use.
Breakfast was good & you pre order what you want the evening before (along with the time you want to eat) to allow the hosts time to have everything ready. The fresh fruit was the largest bowl I’ve ever been given. My husband & I shared it so I would have room for some eggs!
WiFi was free & we had good connection.
We had a 2 night stay which allowed us a full day to drive the Ring of Kerry. Rosalyn & Donald were very friendly & gave good tips on the area. Donald directed us to the best roads to take for maximum views.
Highly recommend this B&B if you are in Killarney. Thank you to previous TA reviewers for helping me make this great choice!!
PS- mozzies were a problem everywhere we went in Ireland (Sept) so be prepared!!

Experienced a warm and genuine welcome at the Ross Castle Lodge B&B inn in Killarney. Great value, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast! What an adorable image when you first arrive - a little storybook house with lovely gardens and trees. Innkeeper Rosaleen was helpful and engaging. Easy daytime walk to Ross Castle or through Killarney National Park to 'town' with restaurants, pubs etc. Recommend a cab to return in the evening from a night of Irish Trad music.

Rosalyn and Donald are a lovely helpful couple, and gracious hosts. They would sit with us each breakfest and we would plan our day together according to their tips. Their reccomendations are top notch and honest. The only time we didnt listen to them (not doing the ring of kerry on a specific cloidy day) we ended up a bit disappointed. Our fault really. The rooms are quite spacious and in top shape. The bed is big and.comfortable. The bathrooms clean and tidy and in general this was the best B&B we've stayed in yet in Ireland. The only small downside is that its about a 15 minute walk from Killarney city center. We preferred ot that way. All in all - well worth it.

We loved loved it here! The rates are very reasonable, especially in the lower season, and considering what you get. The whole place is decorated so nicely, one person said it was dated, but it isn't, it is very classy and Victorian almost. Totally spotless, and the decor adds to the whole experience of being in Ireland. I don't want to be in a fancy modern decor when I'm in rustic, countryside Ireland. It was beautiful.

The hostess is wonderful. She is so accommodating, when we arrived she offered us fresh scones and tea! The rooms are huge! Especially for a bed and breakfast. The triple room (even though only 2 of us stayed in it) was definitely enough room for 3 people. The bathroom was beautiful and huge. The place is so clean and the sheets and bed are so comfy!

The breakfast! Oh the breakfast! Everything was so natural and fresh, I'm sure nearly, if not, organic! Real orange juice, real brown bread, homemade jams and 4 or 5 different options for breakfast: vegetarian, full Irish, smoked salmon, and I think another one. Delicious all around. Best breakfast we had in Ireland and we stayed in 4-5 B & Bs.

The location is really nice, however, if you wanted to be able to walk to pubs, it would be maybe 15 mins ish, maybe longer, and parking in town is minimal, but we were there to see Ross Castle itself which you could walk to from the B and B and experience the Irish countryside.

Stunning! Would love to come back!

Room Tip: We had two rooms and they were both stunning with larger than normally received in B and B beds. So...

The very best B&B that we used in Ireland. Dennis and Rosaleen are very helpful, full of local knowledge and are lovely people. our room was large and the beds were wonderful as were the sheets. Wonderful breakfast, great gardens.
We regret that we only spent one night there - it was so nice that we felt like we were at home.
Ross Castle is also a good castle to visit but it is only done by a guide so you need to be the by 1645 at latest.
We would definitely stay here again and we would choose to stay for a number of days so we could relax and enjoy the hospitality.
It is very clean - the best that we have seen!

We had a wonderful experience at the Ross Castle Lodge. We stayed for two nights. The room was very clean and well appointed. Great location, lending itself to walks in the park with an entrance across the street. It took us longer than expected to make it into Killarney proper via the park trails, but I believe we took a wrong turn. Paths in the park are not exactly marked, so be sure you know where you are going, especially if you don't have time to wander. We drove ourselves around the Ring of Kerry and Denis gave us a great alternate route down some deserted roads where the buses do not travel. Will absolutely stay again on a return trip.
