Enjoyed a two night stay in the Riverside Hotel in Killarney in mid-September, 2010. The room was small but comfortable, and was very clean and well maintained. The bath room was modern and the facilities were very good. Both the restaurant and the pub provided food service, but the food ended at 9:30 PM (21:30). This is where the service aspect comes into play. We arrived at the hotel at 10:00 PM (22:00) after the food service ended. However, the staff kindly arranged to have sandwiches prepared for us in the pub, and were very gracious in doing so. When I indicated some concern about driving the Ring of Kerry because I was concerned that I would concentrate on driving and would miss much of the scenery, the staff suggested a mini-bus tour that would leave the driving to someone else. They then arranged and booked the tour and arranged to have us picked up the next morning at the hotel. Therefore, both my wife and myself were able to enjoy the Ring and didn't have to worry about driving on the left side of the very narrow roads, etc.
We did eat in the restaurant on the second evening, and the food was quite good with a variety of menu choices.
In all, we found the Riverside Hotel to be among the most pleasant of the lodging facilities on our recent trip.More
