Nice hostel. Central location to pubs. Rooms were fairly small. No lockers. Ensuite was clean but simple. Location quite hard to find as down an alley. Staff nice and friendly. Includes a very simple breakfast. Hot drinks, toast, cereal, milk.

A perfect example of what the word HOSTEL means. Located in the heart of the town, the staff of this hostel will be glad to help you at any time you will need. The rooms are fabulous and the kitchen is very well organized, a small breakfast (cereals, milk, bread, jam and butter) is included. Ask any kind of tips to the staff about the best places to have a drink or food! This is not a normal Hostel, this is a five stars Hostel! Great great great! Thank you guys!

This place is a little tricky to find due to some construction in the neighborhood. But it was a great place to meet a lot of international people. It was also very convenient to get on any tours or any attractions in the area. Killarney is a great place with cool restaurants and bars and this place was close to them all. One day I walked to the national Forest and had a great day. Just a little walk there without having to get on the bus was very nice with the location of the hostel. I definitely recommend this place anybody looking for a cheap place to stay in a great location

Reservation: 6 bed dorm, mixed
Neighborhood (along the main street of Killarney):
The neighborhood is busy during the day and a little quieter at night. It is a safe area and there is a Tesco across the street in a shopping centre that closes at 6pm.
The Stay:
The room was simple and liveable. We had a small room with a small window with an old radiator underneath it. There’s a vanity shelf with a small mirror and another shelf attached to a rod for hanging your jackers. The linens were provided, already in the room. The pillows were rather flat and the beds rather firm and the duvet was rather thin and felt really worn.
The Environment:
There are 10 rooms to one of each gender toilet room with two toilets stalls, two sinks and two 30 sec push button shower stalls per floor. The shower pressure was like a light sprinkle and there was not enough ventilation in the bathroom. The whole hostel has a semi-rundown feel, definitely a place to bring shower shoes around.
Amenities:
There are no lockers in the rooms, though there is a luggage room on the ground floor. Laundry is €8.50 because they do it for you and bring it to your room after it’s done. Wifi is variable from room to room.
The kitchen is an industrialized kitchen with several hobs, two sinks, two full-sized refrigerators. There’s supposedly an oven, but it was broken while I stayed. The gas hobs we could use had to be lit with a match after the gas is turned on.
Service:
The reception people are very friendly and very helpful. There is a table full of tours and other ideas for things to do in the area and the receptionists have some opinions they can give. They give you a card key at reception for your room only and a paper security pass for afterhours until curfew at 3am. Breakfast is included, served at 8-10am and consists of bran and corn flakes, milk, white or brown bread, butter, blackcurrant or strawberry jam, tea coffee. Beds are not assigned and you don’t have to do anything with the linens when you leave.

Been there for a night, the rooms weren't ready at about noon but every staff member were very helpful, you could still use the rest of the facilities. Even when I checked out they let me leave my bag in the luggage room for a few hours.
I read in someone's review that breakfast was awful, well I disagree. Yes there were cornflakes but also bread with jam & butter, with tea and coffee, and nevertheless to say that you can use the kitchen to prepare whatever you like any time of the day, there's no need to complain about them offering a poor breakfast.
The room I stayed in was only female's, so it's not mixed dorms as you see in the website. Nice one!
It's not a luxury hostel, but it's good value for the price paid: quite clean, use of kitchen & internet anytime. Also, check out the hiring bikes opposite the tourist info, they do discount if you stay there!
Thanks to all the staff at Neptunes!
