this hotel is ideal for a weekend in killarney.friendly efficient staff, great location, just what you want for a short break.a wedding on saturday night was a bit loud though we are assured this is not the norm here.tip.arrive early if driving as there are limited spaces in the hotel car park.the staff at reception and the porters were full of useful information about where to go and what to do to make the most of our short stay.we will use this hotel again.

Great hotelin the centre of Killarney town, minute walk from the train station, it's within walking distance to local shops, bars and restaurants. Really clean and friendly hotel, with the staff willing to go out of their way to assist you. Rooms are adequately furnished, although they are a small bit cramped. Highly recommend staying there if you want to sample the true delights of Killarney.

We recently stayed for a few days at the Killarney Plaza Hotel with our 10 month old and 2.5 year old.

Killarney is a great place to go and there is heaps to see and do in and around the town. It is also a great base from which to see the Ring of Kerry.

The hotel is well located in the centre of town and has on site parking included at no additional charge.

The hotel is big and seems to be used by a number of tour companies making it quite busy but this was not a problem for us.

We had a great room which was big enough to accomodate our considerable luggage, 2 adults and 2 kids and a cot.

There were a lot of nice extras included such as molten brown products in the bathroom which helped to reinforce that you were staying in a high end property.

The hotel also had a big indoor pool which we used and what seemed to be a great day spa which unfortunately we didn't get to use.

Food was of a high quality - we had breakfast in the hotel (buffet as part of the package) and a room service dinner.

The staff were extremely helpful and professional throughout our stay again reinforcing the quality of the hotel.

We were really pleased with our decision to stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others who are going to Killarney.

I stayed for five nights at the Plaza as part of a golf tour with friends. I cannot have been more disappointed. The rooms were tiny, dark and run-down. Amenities were non-existent - for example no mini-bar in the rooms. All of us tried to change rooms but were fairly unsympathetically treated by the receptionists - who claimed that the hotel was full for all five nights.

We did not eat any meals in the hotel. The breakfast was OK but the room has the atmosphere of a railway station / conveyor belt. The bar was enormous, but usually with only one barman on duty, so service was incredibly slow. This was also perhaps the only hotel bar I have ever been to where they not only served no snacks, but also had no peanuts, crisps etc.

The garage di not have enough spaces - it was a question of first come first served. When we were luck enough to find a space, the walk from the garage to the reception went through the bowels of the hotel - and frankly felt unsafe.

Overall, this is a place that caters for package tours, passing itself off as a four-star hotel, but has no style, facilities or service

Dear HARAZurich,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your stay here with us. We were very disappointed to read the review as this is far from the experience described by so many others on Trip Advisor and far from the standards we set ourselves. I apologise if we did not meet your expectations of us on this occasion. I assure you I have also shared your feedback with the Management Team.

our fourth visit to this lovely hotel, which is situated right in the centre of killarney. the only downside to the location is the noise from drunken revellers at 4am in the street below and 'boy-racers' driving their cars very fast and noisily through the streets about the same time (we experienced this on our other visits) - but that's not the fault of the hotel.
my partner uses a wheelchair and the hotel is pretty well suited to this. ramped corridors/lifts to all floors and level access to the street. i am not sure, however, if the pool is accessible. the only gripe is the complicated series of stair-lifts to access the (cramped) car park. do not attempt this if you are disabled - we have discovered it is easier to drop off at the front of the hotel, then park up the road in a disabled bay.
the breakfasts are fantastic and the evening meal we had was to die for - rack of lamb: cooked to perfection! waiting staff were attentive and professional.
the room was kept clean and tidy and the housekeeping staff friendly but discreet.
the molton brown spa is wonderful - pricey but a real treat. i have been lucky enough to have several visits and each one was perfect.
all in all, a great hotel. we'll definately return again.
