I booked this hotel on Expedia based on the photos seen there. Photo 18 shows an old manor house with a lovely garden and fields around it. The Hotel we stayed in had a concrete carpark in front, buildings on each side and a caravan park at the back. Did I miss something? The room was nice and the breakfast was fine. If we had not paid so much and had high expectations, we would not have been so disappointed.

I stayed in Victoria House Hotel last weekend in June with my partner Tony. we loved it. I couldnt fault it. From the decor to the food to the wonderful staff we met in every part of the hotel.I did the dust test and found the room to be spotless. what a great place. we walked in to town as the weather was fab and walked back out later that night. I would definately stay here again. If i had one thing to say it would be to have a full length mirror in the bedroom.Otherwise perfect.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at victoria house. The service at the bar was great and we had many meals...and pints there. Staff was very friendly and helpful guiding us with area attractions. It was convenient to downtown and also other attractions. Our room was small but comfortable, equipped with all we needed. It did get quite warm, but we were able to adjust the thermostat to a more comfortable temperature. We had breakfast daily and it was delicious. We would definitely return to victoria house!

We had a wonderful stay at Victoria House. The hotel is very nice, so for the americans that are used to large, clean, updated rooms, you won't be disappointed here. For those who don't like to stay at a large chain type hotel, where every single one is the same, then this is also a good fit. It has a nice charm to it and is a great size (not too big).

I thought the location was great. It's a bit outside the town, so if you're looking to do stuff inside Killarney you might want to look further in, but for us it was great because it was basically halfway between the town and the park. This makes for a quieter spot and easy access to the park. An added perk is there is a bike rental place right next door, which was a highlight of our trip as a whole.

Very nice place, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed for nights and really liked the venue,we initially had a smaller room with no bath, but for €10extra we were able to upgrade to a lovely room with bath and very spacious..
It was very local to the town and also the sights.

Staff were all very friendly and the pub down stairs served very good food.
Would highly recommend this little hotel.

Room Tip: Check if your rooms with a bath as the picture may be misleading

We picked this hotel because we planned to visit Muckross House and Gardens the following day. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable and our dinner and breakfast were very good. In the morning we found Muckross House a short distance down the road.

While travelling round Ireland, this was one of the poshest hotels we stayed in.

The hotel appears a bit ostentatious but it has some odd traits. Our room was on the ground floor, overlooking the car park. The room itself was quite small but appeared quite luxurious with the guilded lamps and silk-effect curtains. Though the bed was very comfy, we did notice that it was quite dark, with all the light relying on the table lamps. Also there was no light in the shower, so you relied on the light from the bathroom coming through the shower curtain. Ok, these aren't big faux pas but we did get this hotel at a reduced rate and had we paid full price, we might be a bit disappointed.

On a side note, the hotel is quite far from the city centre, a 5-10 minute drive, too far to walk, and the breakfast is on the more expensive side, so you might want to consider opting out of that and having breakfast at one of the lovely cafés in town.
