“Great Bed. Great Breakfast. Friendly, helpful.”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

Is there a bad Bed & Breakfast in Ireland? In two trips, I have not found one, but Woodlands B&B is among the best. Not in the center of town, so the price is right, but a short taxi ride down to the center and friendly pubs, restaurants and shopping is nice. Parking downtown Killarney is rare and dear so it costs little more to taxi in. Both owners, Mr. & Mrs., are golfers and members at the Killeen Course only 2 km up the road from their door. Golf is spoken here. Clean and happy. A full Texan seal of approval! The national forest and lots of family things are close by. From rockin pubs to quiet walks, Killarney is all-Ireland, without the big city noise. I love it and this B&B. A full Texan seal of approval.

From the moment we stepped into Woodlands where we had the warmest of welcomes from Patrick and Julia to the time we departed nothing had been too much trouble. From the super breakfasts to Patricks yarns and advice on where and which direction to go to explore, there just was not enough time to do it all. Please visit the lakes and take the thrill seeking boat rides up the rapids through the three lakes, or take the local taxis (horse and buggy) rides. If it were'nt for Patrick and Julia we would have not have done half of it. At the end of the day after trying a little libation in Killarney it was back to Woodlands to spotless rooms and service and awaiting the next days breakfasts and of course Patricks yarns. Brilliant.

Room Tip: I could not see any problem with any of the rooms

We stayed for four nights at this lovely b&b and we were very happy we did! Patrick and Julia make you feel so very welcome and at home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious and hearty. Patrick gave great advice for places we were looking for and things to see in our travels. We had our own rental car, so it was a very convenient location to zip into the town centre, yet just far enough from the busyness to feel relaxing. Our umbrella got beat up in an earlier part of our trip, and Julia didn't hesitate to offer hers when we were heading out on a rainy day. (Thank-you!) Killarney is a great place to stay as a home base for touring around Dingle and the Ring Of Kerry, and has so much of its own sightseeing to offer as well. Great shopping and restaurants, too.

Patrick and Julia are great hosts. The room was spacious and comfortable. We wanted to get some laundry done, so Patrick recommended a great place in town. When the laundry learned of our tight schedule they delivered right to the B&B. Patrick also suggested a nice Ring of Kerry tour. We were on a self-drive tour and had a lot of driving planned, so it was nice to be in passenger mode for a day. The breakfast was great with a number of options.

We stayed with 7 golfers for 3 nights early September. Good location, very nice and tidy rooms, delicious breakfast and above all great hospitality by Patrick and Julia. Right from the first moment we felt at home thanks to the warm personality of the hosts. If you're looking for a B&B in the area of Killarney, don't look any further, this is definitively the place to be.

Recently toured Ireland for 10 days and the best B&B we stayed at was the Woodlands in Killarney! Comfortable rooms - great hospitality - great location to everything we wanted to see. I can't wait to revisit Killarney and stay here again!!! Thanks to Patrick and Julie for making us feel at home!

On Saturday the 24th of August, we spent the night and following day in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland.
Once again, it was without a doubt, our favorite stay over!
Host and Hostess Patrick and Julie went, once again, far and beyond the norm, to make us welcome, comfortable and snug.
Julie keeps such a tidy house and garden, that we always feel at home.
She also is my stomach's favorite friend! Such a Traditional breakfast! And I LOVE my groceries!
She is so warm and friendly, as is the typical in Ireland, but she makes us feel family.
Patrick always takes time from his busy business to talk on with us and always points us in the right direction for sites, entertainment and directions.
He is also responsible for us contacting and staying at the Lighthouse B&B in Dingle. It too is a wonderful stop.
Darlin' and I have been in several countries and many great a B&B, but Patrick and Julie are at the top of the list. They are our Kerry Home and Family from now on.
Thank you both for such a warm, heartfelt stay!
