“Class act”

Went with the family - amazing. Loads to do in Kilarney for family - especially if the weather is ok. Hotel is excellent but the class act are the staff. This is what Irish service is about {even though half the staff are non Irish} ... but the team are pure brilliant. Their Manager Danny deserves special mention. I am in the industry abroad and hence I was looking for flaws ... every single staff member deserves a 10 out of 10. What is the training or recruitment policy like ! Advice ... if thinking about Ireland, Kerry, Kilarney - then you will not be upset at choosing the Brehon !

Stayed here recently with my husband for a quick getaway without the kids! It was fantastic! The room was total luxury with every comfort laid on. All the staff were very friendly with the standard of service second to none! Buffet breakfast was beautiful - Overall if you're looking for a 5 star break don't go any further than the Brehon

We stayed here in July 2011,lovely hotel but not really within walking distance if you Want to head into Killarney for a night out. About €12 for taxi minibus. Lovely hotel, slept in so didn't make breakfast but everyone else in our group were raving about it, they said it was fab. I will stay here again, it had a nice relaxing feel to it.

Staying in the Suite (a very nice place to stay) :-) .... it was very comforable. Breakfast was not that good (no fresh orange juice) and the Hotel is a little bit out of town, so that you have to go by Taxi or Car to the citycentre. Staff is very nice and helpful, BUT ... unbelievable ...... it was not possible to lend an umbrella in the Hotel ...... hey, we are in Ireland !!!! Very good spa inside the Hotel ... Over all it is a nice stay and a very good basis for daily trips. The Bar is lovely ... enjoy the Cosmopolitan !

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Brehon - we were going to a concert at the INEC next door. Had sandwiches in the bar which were good. No problem having a sandwich made with gluten free bread. Room was very comfortable though a large pillar in front of the window cut off a lot of the natural light. The breakfast was extensive and again no problem getting gluten free toast and cereal.

Check in staff were exceptional. We arrived at 9.00am and they found us a room and let us check in straight away, without us even asking. Thats what I call first class service.
Room was spacious, fab views of mountains, massive bed, very comfortable and nice seating area. Bathroom great, big walk in shower and large bath and nice toiletries.
It's about a 20 minute stroll into town but there is also a minibus service runs every hour if you don't want to walk.Town very busy and geared up for the tourists but has some good restaurants. Dinner at the hotel was incredible, good choice, good service, good wine list and not outragously expensive.
The spa area was everything the brochure described, massage well worth the money. They have special offers that can be booked on arrival.
The service in the bar was kind of hit and miss, the staff seemed to be lacking direction and the food took forever to arrive. Eat in the bar twice but have to say you take a chance on whether the food is going to be worth the wait. We had two steaks, one good , one not good, if we had the time we would have sent it back. We had fish, again one good and one piece wouldn't have fed a sparrow but again waited so long, to hungary to send it back. This is the only part that lets the hotel down.
Breakfast, again good choice and good service. Would stay again but not use the bar.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have great views of mountains.
