I spent the weekend here we got an upgrade for an extra 20.00 a night which was great value considering what you get. The rooms were big and spacious with a Jacuzzi bath. The hotel is located right in the main street so no need for taxi's to the bar etc.. Overall a lovely stay

Decided on a whim to go away for the night- saw as we were driving past that the Fairview is a boutique hotel which appeals to us, we weren't dissapointed- stayed in an executive room which meant we got a fabulous jacuzzi bath (if a bit cozy for 2!) agree that the pushed together bed not necessarily the most comfortable if lying in the middle of it but very comfy otherwise honestly.. beautiful room - far superior to the generic type of room you find in the big chain hotels.. breakfast was lovely and service was good, would definately stay there again..

My friends and we stayed at the Fairview for a week. What a great location and what a great staff. They were always helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were deliciious with lots of choices. Fast and efficient service. Would recommend this for all who want a centrally located hotel with great service.

After a long drive into Killarney, we parked outside the hotel and stepped into a refuge. The rooms are all unique and beautifully appointed - look like bedrooms in a home versus a hotel. The breakfast is elegent and delicious. just around the corner from all the shops and pubs. Easy car parking 1/2 block up the road. Friendly and helpful staff.

(Cork based 30-something couple, down in Killarney for weekend)

As usual, i read way too many trip advisor reviews when booking hotels. We had the best western booked but when i rang to confirm, i found that they only had 20 parking spots and didn't want to have to worry about moving the car so checked around for somewhere else. After reading the first few reviews, i booked in for the two nights in the Fairview. When i went back and read more of the reviews i started to worry about what kind of stay it would be. Have to say i was worrying for no need.

Arrived down at about 8pm. Had told them would be arriving late and they asked me to call on the day to confirm the time which i did and no problems. There was somebody at the front desk when we arrived and checked us in very quickly. There are three car spaces outside the hotel for drop off. So after checking in, we moved the car a short walk up the road to the public car park (3e a day and free on Sunday).

This place feels like a hotel except for the fact that there is no bar, no restaurant and the reception is just a desk inside the front door, but you could not compare this place to a normal b&b / guesthouse. It actually has the feel of a show house. Not sure when it was refurbished but it really has the modern luxury feel (in my opinion).

We were offered the standard room for 45 pp/pn but had upgraded to the executive room for 50 pp/pn, which considering how central it was, we were very happy. The room was lovely, big bed, flat screen, spacious bathroom (bath with jets). But its the little things that just make it easier.... bathroom with tissues, nice shower, heated mirror so that it defogs faster, iron that folds out really simply. If we had been abroad, i would have been dissapointed with not having an inroom safe but we didn't have much with us this time so didn't matter. I had a nose into some other room as the doors where open when passing down corridor on Satuday morning and they all looked nice. The next level room up seemed to have a larger room with couches and also the bathrooms had seperate bath / shower.

Just read the last post about the soundproofing. We had room 115 and didn't hear anyting. Maybe there was nobody next door. Thought we often had the tv on for the little time we were in the room so maybe that helped. One of the tv channells was this tourism program on loop which was a tour of the ring of kerry from a helicopter. its no longer than 30 mins so worth a quick look.

On the saturday we took a drive up through the gap of dunloe, over to Moll's gap and back over to Killarney. Nice drive when you only have a few hours. Although if you aren't a fan of sqeezing by other cars and doing a bit of backing up every now and again, don't go near the gap of dunloe. We came upon one or two jarveys along the narrower parts.
We then went for dinner in Robertino's italian on main street for dinner and then headed to Riverdance that night. Very good show!!!.

Back to the guesthouse, only thing left to describe was breakfast, which we were more than happy with. had full irish on first morning and savoury omlette on second (was tempted by the pancakes).. They also had cereals, yoghurt, brown bread. Plenty of refills of toast and coffee. We came down at 9.30 on both mornings and got table straight away. Was much busier on Sunday morning though and got second last free table. Group of three came in after us and had to wait in front room for a few mins.

Was watching the pope's mass for a few mins after breakfast in the front room. It was like a sitting room with large flat screen and there was a wine and spirit list on the table so maybe they serve drinks there at certain times, i don't know.

Anyway, have to finish review and go back and pretend i'm interested in the Cork / Down match. But Man Utd just won so i won't have a cranky boyfriend for the week. :).

Just to end, i'd definitely stay there again. I'm a big fan of being able to walk from hotel to pub / restaurant etc. and that couldn't have worked out better.

Thanks Fairview for a lovely weekend.
