Our group was pretty much beginners (can hit a ball but not with much consistency). We were residents so got very reasonable green fees 10 euro for 9 holes/ 15 for 18holes. The course was well maintained apart from some damage to the greens on the last few holes due to the deer but as we're not in any way experts we didn't mind. There are some great views around the course and we all had fun. Would definitely play again.

course would have been pretty good but we had the misfortune of dealing with the course manager/golf pro, he was english but he was so rude when we wanted a refund because most of the course had standing water on it and after the 3rd hole we decided not to play into the greens due to the ball plugging severly, he wouldnt refund us because we wanted to walk off the course!!! we walked off because it was not fit to play and we did not want to cause further damage to the course. shame on you sir

Enjoyed playing here

Little cheaper and easier than some of the big name places but not bad if you are looking for a quick 9

We stayed at the Castlerosse for a family weekend for my parents anniversary at the start of October, they are regulars and go twice a year every year for the Golden Years program so we decided to make it a family trip this time. Had an absolutely fabulous time, staff didn’t mind us joining in on the Golden Years quiz and sing along because they knew our parents from previous visits (they recognised them as soon as they walked in the door, very impressive!!), as they knew it was their 40th wedding anniversary they had already given them a complimentary upgrade which was lovely. All our rooms were located near each other, they were standard hotel rooms, clean and comfortable, no complaints. My sister has two children who loved the kiddies playground and pool, no problems in arranging a babysitter either. We had a cake ordered which came out after dinner and was lovely, we didn’t have room to fit it in though we were so full after a gorgeous dinner! We had it in the bar with tea before we left on Sunday.
The hotel location was ideal as the view was spectacular and the weather was lovely so we all went for walks in the park, plenty to do for everyone in the hotel, in particular my parents who fitted right in as so they knew lots of people who are also regulars. The only complaint I would have (and a minor one at that!) was that the lobby was as little cold at times, but that was only because so many people were coming in and out of the front doors, when it was quieter it was very comfortable. All in all a great weekend and great value, definitely a hotel to suit all ages, we’ll be back!
