Castlerosse Golf Course

We stayed in the castleross hotel and had a great time. The staff was lovely. The hotel is nice a clean. The food was great. It was a last minute booking as when we arrived at or hotel we had booked it was not as we expected. ( Dark long corridors ,dirty walls, horrible basic room, HOTEL KILARNEY). But thankfully CASTLEROSS had a room for us and was very nice. . Is a great location too.
Only thing i would say about this hotel is that they could do with making they're kids club a bit more appealing .

Interesting challenging at times quirky golf course
From the par 3 start hole to the par 3 finish hole club selection and course management is imperative hole two straight but challenging green, 3 dog left left , but can you go over the trees beware but yes you can 4 don't go right 5 must drive straight great dog left right super hole , 6 , 4/5 iron straight or do you take on the lake Tigerline to the green ? You have to hit it straight and well or lose the ball
Great hole small green
7 not an easy up the slope , not easy to hold the green , 8 mind the ditch and the copse on the right , good green , 9 par 3, 95 yds but not easy good green and bunkers
Hotel bar food etc excellent
Yep great little course with a sexy smile with teeth that bite !

Great value, beautiful course, well maintained, fantastic views, uncrowded and so so relaxed.

Can't understand anyone that would pay 5 times the price to play at the golf club next door.

Have been using that facility for over ten years and it's always consistant

Our group was pretty much beginners (can hit a ball but not with much consistency). We were residents so got very reasonable green fees 10 euro for 9 holes/ 15 for 18holes. The course was well maintained apart from some damage to the greens on the last few holes due to the deer but as we're not in any way experts we didn't mind. There are some great views around the course and we all had fun. Would definitely play again.

course would have been pretty good but we had the misfortune of dealing with the course manager/golf pro, he was english but he was so rude when we wanted a refund because most of the course had standing water on it and after the 3rd hole we decided not to play into the greens due to the ball plugging severly, he wouldnt refund us because we wanted to walk off the course!!! we walked off because it was not fit to play and we did not want to cause further damage to the course. shame on you sir
