Stayed here for 2 days in July.
We asked for a room in the old part of the hotel rather than the newer wings and got a really nice room with lots of character.
The room was a good size, clean and nicely fitted out. Only downside was the TV which we relied on for watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics - It's been a few years since CRTs have been made, and it's been quite a while since I saw one in a four star TV.
That aside - the bed was comfortable, and the hotel and rooms were really great for 2 good nights sleep.
The breakfast in the morning is really good with a great selection of fruits, pastries and other items. The poached eggs Malton style are worth giving a try.
Staff were excellent from checking to checking out, and the location is perfect. Just a few hundred metres and you're in the center of town, right across the road is the outlet mall (which is half empty now - sign of the economic times :().
Wifi also worked really well - important these days to stay in touch with folks

The hotel was charming and full of history and character adding to the small town allure of Kilarney. But it was our concierge and her warm, helpful demeaner that made our stay memmorable. One of the nicest people we met on our trip.

We had a wonderful family break with our 3 boys aged 12yrs. The inter connecting rooms were very spacious. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially the concierge Mary Mac.The food was absolutely top class . We had 2 evening meals included and the childrens portions were very substantial much to our boys delight. The leisure centre was adequate. Its location is excellent. We look forward to a return visit.

Stayed here for a few nights with my husband for a friends wedding and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room, although we didn't see much of it since we were out so much. The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful answering my many questions!

The wedding itself was fantastic!!! The food was simply amazing!!! I honestly don't think I've ever had such fantastic food at a wedding.

The only problem we had was that Breakfast service was extremely slow. If you're in a hurry it may be simpler not to try and order tea/coffee or a cooked breakfast. We waited for over 20 minutes before someone came to take our order and they it was another 20 mins for our cooked breakfast and even then there was no sign of toast or tea for another 10 mins after that. On the bright side, the cold buffet is extensive!!!

All in all our stay was really great! The only let down was the breakfast service

The Malton proved ideal for our visit to Killarney as part of a 10 day visit to Ireland travelling around by train. A lovely hotel with fabulous rooms (go for a deluxe garden view). Everywhere was elegant and the staff really friendly and courteous. Treated ourselves to one Dinner which was not cheap, but worth it for the variety and quality of dishes with lots of extra touches and a lovely ambience. Went on a tour of Ring of Kerry(with Corcoran tours) and were fortunate to have the best weather of our entire trip)
We really felt that if we lived nearer we would be very frequent visitors!

Room Tip: Garden view on 3rd floor for views over gardens to mountains. We had 346
