Killarney is a beautiful place to stay. would highly recommend Scotts Hotel. The staff were lovely. The food was lovely and quiet reasonably priced...

Room Tip: The family rooms are well laid out with a separate area for the children's beds.

We stayed here on a weekend in Killarney and the hotel was in a great location close to shops and some night life while being far enough away so that you could get a good nights sleep.

We ended up getting an apartment type room with an extra room off it with a fridge and cooker and couches and a telly and this is a part of what made the trip so enjoyable. There is a lot going on in Killarney and if you're the type who enjoys Irish Music there are plenty bars around with live traditional music. There are a few other bars then that would have rock (cover) bands singing some popular current hits for younger people and couples (We were more into the rock bands to be honest)

The food in the hotel was a little bit pricey, but it was very nice and there is a nice ambience in the restaurant / lobby so I'd recommend eating there if it was in your price range.

Room Tip: A room facing the pedestrian street out front will provide some entertainment watching people stumbl...

We stayed here over a weekend and had breakfast and evening meals. Both were fab. Very tastety, and the breakfast huge. The hotel itself was quiet inside, yet the nightly music was absolutely brilliant, so it suited all tastes. The staff were very nice and friendly. Great location for exploring local area...a cocoon admist the hussle of a very busy town! Traffice was crazy but we couldnt hear it in the hotel. We loved it very much and are definitely returning next year! Yes, there is fab music each night as mentioned and that's what is attractive. Most clients want music and craic, and in a town centre hotel you'd expect some nosie...it's no problem...you'll have lots of time to sleep!!

Stayed in Scotts Hotel , Killarney with 3 other couples for weekend break. Family rooms are very big, the only thing was there was no air con in room and it got very warm at night. Beakfast was fine, had evening meal which was excellent and catered for you children as well. There is plenty of night life around and yet hotel was peacefull at weekend, kids played around and it didnt bother staff at all which was great.
Parking is free for residends which is a great help

Stayed here for a little break in April. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Killarney with underground car parking. The courtyard area is a great place to have a relaxing drink and to watch the world go by, especially when the sun is shining. Staff very friendly.. Only complaint was a bit of maintenance work going on to the windows without giving the guests notice, but mangement took this comment on board and it was only a one-off. We will stay again.. No question

Our group stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while on tour of the rural areas of Ireland and really thought it central to most attractions and restaurants in the area....the rooms have recently been renovated and although they dont have central air.......fans can be obtained and the staff are really nice and friendly......The food in their restaurant was excellent and their continental breakfasts are great..........loved it there........take the horse and buggy ride through the national park in Kilarney.......right outside the hotel walkway.......and check out all the little streets in the area..........

Room Tip: do not get a room facing the front of the hotel as the band plays til 12:30 each night....

Dear past guest.

Thank you for reviewing Scotts Hotel on Trip Advisor; it gave me great pleasure to read the positive comments; Scott's is a prime location for exploring the town centre but also exploring the Killarney National Park. We did renovate our rooms early this year and we have had excellent feedback since; we strive to provide a home away from home. Unfortunately we do not have air condition in our rooms but we do provide complimentary fan when required toour guests.

One of the main attractions and the most popular activity is the Jaunting Car ride of Killarney National Park. Killarney Lake Tours provide both a fun and knowledgeable tour with plenty craic with the Jarvey; this is one attraction that I believe every visitor of Killarney should experience; I am happy to read that you enjoyed this activity.

I do hope you return to Ireland in the near future and visit us here in Scotts; we look forward to welcome past guests and friends.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Tip: Do not get a room facing onto the courtyard / pedestrian street unless you want to be kept awake by Irish music and drunken singalongs until midnight or so. The bar attached to the hotel has bands outside to attract the punters but it echoes off the walls of the surrounding buildings causing an effect similar to having the band right in your room. This happened every night we were there and it was not appreciated after a long day of hiking and driving. It seems the hotel is more interested in attracting people to its bar than in the comfort of its hotel guests.

Dear past guest,

Many thanks for your review regarding Scott's Hotel Killarney; it is with regret that I read your review; we do provide music midweek till 11.30pm every night over the summer and have been doing so for over 30 years; this entertainment is appreciated by both visitors and locals alike it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy the entertainment service that we provide.

Scott's Hotel has 120 bedrooms and we would have been more than happy to move you to a quieter part of our hotel; so you could enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time with us. It is pity that you did not bring this to our attention during your stay.

We strive to provide a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable time for all our residents in Scott's and we would have done our utmost to provide such a service to you as you were on an activity break in Killarney.

I do hope you return to Scott's once more and I will endeavour to provide you with a quiet room so you can enjoy your time in Killarney
