We camped here for 5 nights in july 2014(tent with 2 people and 2 dogs). There's not a bad thing to say about the place. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Toilets and showers are always spotless.Great location with private access to the beach. We will definitely be back!

I am ten years old I come here every year since I was 1 and all my friends go to foreign countries but I am delighted to come here every year it has two playgrounds which is great for me its a 10 minute walk from the village and not even a second from the beach because it has a gate at the back of it to the beach.it has a kitchen and a laundry blockand toilet block it even has a wetsuit area everytime I go down there all my cousins do to its really fun and there is lots of other kids there too and I have made some really good friends over the years, every night at about 10:30 anne comes around with her torch to make sure all the kids are inside although thats not good for me I suppose it makes sense so even if I had to rate this place out of 100 it would get 100 :) :)

Room Tip: The mobile homes at the back are brilliant!!

We stayed (2 adults) for three nights, Wed- Fri with a tent, 2 dogs and a car, and we were very pleased with the site. We arrived about 11am and were greeted by Anne, who gave us our key fob (for entrance through the gate) and key for the facilities (access to the kitchen/laundry room, games room, showers and toilets - €10 deposit). There is 24hour CCTV and there is a gate at the entrance so only residents of the park can enter with a vehicle. Anne directed us where to set up our pitch so that we would be best protected from the wind and there were hedges all around, which were great and also provided a bit of privacy. The ground was soft enough to get the pegs into but not too soft that the dogs could pull their stake out!

We had a look around and were really surprised (good surprised!) with the facilities/amenities on site. There is a kitchen with seating area, microwave, kettle, two under the counter fridges and a chest freezer. The laundry area consists of two washing machines, a tumble dryer and three sinks. The machines are coin operated, €3 for the washing machines and €1 for 30 minutes on the dryer. There are good refuse facilities with bins dotted around the park as well as a recycling system in the kitchen/laundry building. Just down from this building are a small number of buildings housing a games room, toilets and showers. All rooms are accessed via the key you are given on arrival. The toilets were always very clean and toilet paper always stocked. The showers are separate with generous sized cubicles with hooks by the door. It is 50c (coin operated box just inside cubicle) for 4 minutes (more than long enough) of lovely hot water and the showers were also pleasantly clean. There are washing lines and a wash area outside for wet suits/ surf boards, which seemed like a great addition!

Another huge plus was the beach that runs alongside the park. The entrance to the beach (Aughacasla Strand) is at the back of the park, through a private gate with a security latch (PIN access). It was just one more safety feature that added to the attractiveness of the park. The beach itself is beautiful, with huge sand dunes and miles and miles in each direction. The sea seemed quire rough when we were there so we didn't swimming, maybe it is calmer in the summer.

The nearest shop is a very straight forward walk, about 10 minutes back onto the main road. Not too far, and there is also a pub and a restaurant.

All in all, we were delighted with the Anchor and if we are up in that area again we would stay again. Also, the fact that it was dog friendly made it perfect for us!

Room Tip: There is a book-swap section at reception

We stayed in a mobile home in the Anchor Caravan Park for a week in August, we had a lovely time, the place was so clean and the staff were lovely. We were really impressed with the high standard of the mobile home, it had everything you could possibly want for your stay. The bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable and the shower was great. There was a private entrance to the beach, which was really close and really clean. The location was perfect, we went to Glantanassig and the Maherees, the idea location for anyone wanting to do Connor Pass. Looking forward to head back next summer.Beautiful views to be seen on the way to the beach

We broke down on the way to the camp. The site owner travelled 15 miles to rescue me and the contents of my trailer at 10.30pm. He refused my offer of money to cover his diesel costs. This was a sign of the hospitality to come.
This site is clean, very well-run and the family staff are always on hand to help and to chat. The site is very well laid out with fabulous access to an amazing beach. We stayed in July 2013 during the heatwave so really did benefit from that. There are ample facilities for kids and plenty of shops a few miles away in Castlegregory.
Mary, her husband and son take great pride in the quality of the service they provide and work very hard to maintain the highest of standards.
I have been a camper for over 40 years and this was definitely the best experience I ever had on a campsite.

Room Tip: Rest assured that Mary and the boys will look after you!

Had a fab experience in this well-run site with a French-vibe. Friendly welcome and lovely well-kept park with adequate amenities. Showers etc very reasonable. Best of all is the access to the beach which is amazing...lovely shallow and safe for bathing and plenty of exploring opportunities for young ones....We had terrible weather but imagine that this place would be amazing if the sun was out......Highly recommended we hope to be back.

Stayed for one night in the middle of May. The whole place was spotless, lovely hot showers, tap for drinking water everywhere and direct access to the beach.
It is basic but has what you need.
Had a lovely peaceful stay.
Only thing is its a bit of a walk to pub/shop.
