We stayed at Ballyseede just one night, and it was delightful. When we got there, we realized there was no air conditioning (I didn't even think), but the windows being opened made it comfortable. It was fun eating in a stone-laden breakfast room, and Esther was so nice and attentive. She gave us some great hints on what to see, and that was such a help. Thank you, Esther!

Room Tip: I think each room has a great view. The front where we were overlooks the horses and a field, and th...

My family traveled to Ireland this spring. Some wanted to stay in a castle. There are a number of choices in Ireland. Ballyseede Castle Hotel was discovered online and we booked. We had afternoon tea, their 5 course dinner and their Irish Breakfast. The service was excellent. Our rooms delightful. My young niece felt like a princess. I did not quite feel like a prince but maybe a little like a Lord. If we are again near Tralee we will certainly stop in again. The price was very favorable when compared to other Castle stays available in Ireland.

Room Tip: The family room is very nice and has a lovely view.

Having just been to my friends wedding over the weekend in this castle, it was incredible. The hillary room was spotlessly clean, plush & comfortable. As for the wedding, the moment we arrived which was early they gave us a room so we could get ready for the wedding, and our luggage was taken to our room when we were at the wedding. The staff of which i commented and many others, were possibly the most friendly and welcoming staff i have ever experienced. Nicola was our waitress, and we could not have asked for better, such a gem, and a credit to the castle. The food was utterly amazing, from starters, mains, desserts, and breakfast the following morning, which we got to the room, at the time we requested. also the bar staff, especially the tralee lady was fab too. Only negitive was i booked a twin room, but got a double. We didnt mind that though, and said it to reception and she was very sorry for the mistake, she would have moved us if we insisted but we didnt mind staying in the double. overall amazing. Thank you ballyseede and for making my friends wedding so special.

We stayed here one night on a driving tour through Ireland visiting castles. When we arrived, about 4pm, there was no one at the reception. We looked around and there was no staff anywhere. Finally we came upon a man sitting at a desk in an office. We told him we were trying to check in. He found a waitress from the kitchen and told her to help us. She was very nice but it started off the stay on an awkward tone. There was a christening luncheon and a wedding on the back lawn so some rooms were closed off. The inside was lovely. The suits of armor about are an especially nice touch. We were in the Paddy Maloney room. There was no air conditioning, so the windows had to be open which was fine except for the noise. Every car driving down the driveway and the dog barking kept waking me up. The stone breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. We had the eggs Benedict and the pancakes. They were delicious.

My son was married here and my entire family 20 plus stayed here for two nights. We were treated as royalty. We occupied the entire castle so we had a chance to view all of the rooms. They are all different and all of them have their own charm about them. Coming from the US we were so pleased to see men in armor in the hallways. The staff were excellent and the food delicious. You are a ways from town but a short walk to an old cemetery and beautiful Irish scenery. I was in a Paddy room and loved being below the grounds but did notice you could hear the noise from above in some of the other rooms. Especially if there is a wedding or party going on!! Delightful. The walls are stone so no noise next door! Wink wink.

What a treat to stay in this truly lovely place. Quintessential dark wood bar with wonderful staff to add local color. Initially we were a little worried that we were trapped to eat on the premises, but then realized we probably couldn't find any better food within a 20 minute drive! Fabulous and substantial bar food (soups, salad, beef pie, sandwiches) and elegant dinning room with a sophisticated menu and the good humored staff upping their service (if possible) for the more formal setting. Breakfast was a delight with staff jumping in to help you plan your day trips (Dingle Peninsula and Killarney for us) and getting us the recipe for their incredibly delicious Guinness bread... oh my, was that stuff good! To top off the castle atmosphere, the owners are always in and out and happy to chat, as are the family dogs (Mr. Higgins a huge Irish wolf hound and Einstein as mixed breed wonder). Their young twin daughters also make appearances and are beyond precious. Cookies and coffee/tea are always available and there are many rooms and alcoves to gather and visit. Only drawbacks are early morning vacuuming and no walking trails on the beautiful grounds.

Recently stayed one night here on a driving trip of Ireland and thoroughly enjoyed the castle! I really wanted to spend a night in a castle during our vacation, and Ballyseede did not disappoint. Upon arrival we requested a four poster room, and were booked into the Paddy Levy room, in the hall of Paddys. Very nice room and bath, with a comfortable bed. The grounds and common areas here are beautiful. We had drinks in the bar and dinner in the on site restaurant, which was very good. Breakfast the next day was excellent- try the eggs Benedict -yum! Staff extremely kind and helpful, especially Esther in the bar and breakfast room. Wish we could gave stayed longer!
