I stayed in this hotel for one night, passing through Tralee. It was good value for money overall but I wouldn't go back. The facade of the hotel is totally deceptive for a start - shiny and modern. Inside it is dark and gloomy. Our room was over the kitchen extractors so constant humming. The furniture was very old as was the tv. That said it was clean and the bathroom was good.

We spent 2 nights here last week. Our youngest had a stay in the Bons Hospital which is very close by. I originally booked one night for one and got an excellent rate and then I booked another night in what was a very simple process. The girl in reception (with the long blond hair) was very welcoming and friendly. Our room 527 was quiet and spotless. Bar food was good and the car park is huge and the rear. WiFi was top class and perfect for streaming with none of that long winded logging in proccess. I would definitely use this property again.

This hotel is definately 3 star but probably much better than that. Great value for money.
I stayed on B&B basis for €65.
The breakfast was great. Lots of Parking in secure car park. The gym/leisure centre was included but i didnt have time to visit so i cant comment. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
No complaints.

As said in the title of this review, the Brandon hotel is a hub for bus tours. As soon as you'll have parked your car it will be already noticeable that there are more buses resting in the hotel's car park than cars. This, in itself, is not a problem. The problem is that since the hotel's bread and butter are the tours, as a normal paying guest you are unimportant. The rooms are quite big but also quite old, the beds are hard and the bathroom's better days are long behind it. However, what we found to be most annoying is the hotel's so called 'eco friendly' towel exchange policy. Instead of the usual - hang towels you wish to reuse, place in bath those you wish to be replaced, the hotel is informing/forcing you to participate in their environment/budget protection programme by stating that towels will only be replaced every other day. Such a policy is simply a disgrace and takes away from the guests the decision which towels they would want to be replaced and which to reuse, all under the pretence of the environment.

Breakfast was ok but quite basic. Staff is mostly made of barely English speakers. Parking is free. Wifi is free.

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the street. They are bigger

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments regarding your stay at the Brandon Hotel. While we certainly value our customers who are part of a tour group this in no way distracts from our attention from our other guests. We consider all of our guests important. Our towel reuse program is optional. Guests are always able to have towels replaced if they so wish. Our staff would all be native speakers or have a strong command of English. Our staff members take their roles in our industry very seriously and try to provide that quality customer service which our guests expect.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your comments

Excellent location, poor service, baggage handling service not reliable, regular breakfast, restaurant staff very professional and pleasant but front desk on our arrival June 24 almost midnight - could not provide an extra wake up call just one by computer, could not provide extra copy of group rooming list - copy machine broken. Left my cell phone and special water bottle with a filter in room - cell phone was kept for me but water bottle disappeared.
Although the floor was non-smoking, some guests were smoking a cigar and one even had his room door open ...
Called reception to ask if my room was the only non-smoking or if the floor was non-smoking. Reply was floor non-smoking. Mention the cigar smell situation and in the morning there was no more cigar smell.

Thank you for taking the time to post your trip advisor review. We take all customer feedback seriously and took the time to look into your concerns. It appears you were visiting us as part of a tour group. That arrangement may have had an effect in this particular case. Normally, porterage is reserved by the tour operator prior to arrival. This is to ensure proper staffing levels are available in order to provide a high level of customer service. Unfortunately the time frame to make arrangements for this service was hurried as it was only requested the evening prior to your morning departure. We apologize if this effected our normally reliable porterage service.

With regards to the wakeup call, an additional wake up call to the one already scheduled by computer could have been fulfilled by our front desk staff. It was the guide leading your tour group who decided and advised that the one computer wakeup call was sufficient.

Although our copy machine was temporarily out of service, it would be customary to only provide one tour rooming list directly to the tour leaders or organizers.

We are glad that your lost mobile has been returned to you. Regrettably there was not a water bottle found to return despite thoroughly searching your room.

With regards to the non-smoking room. Yes as you had verified the floor is non-smoking. We rely on the cooperation of our guests to adhere to this rule. If we were notified at the time, we would have done our best to rectify the situation.

Again thank you for taking the time to make us aware of these items during your stay. We hope that you will consider staying with us again during your next trip to Tralee.

Best Regards
Elaine C

The receptionist was helpful and of a cheery disposition. A lot of hotels can't pull that off and it is an automatic fail if you are greeted upon arrival with indifference.Nothing seemed to be a problem and if we had any kind of issue she was eager to have it resolved. Its location is very central. The restaurant staff seem to able to deal quite well with large groups.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and daughter between 31 October 2013 and 4 November 2013 when we visited Tralee for a family reunion. We much enjoyed the Irish breakfast that was served each day and I made good use of the large Leisure Centre which included both gym and swimming pool. The hotel is ideally located with a short walk to the town centre and good transport with the beautiful Kerry coast, the Dingle peninsula and the rest of Kerry and south west Ireland.
