first time to stay at Ballygarry. It was fabulous. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The room was really comfortable and very spacious. I used the spa facility and was not disappointed there either. I will definitely return to this wonderful hotel. Well done to the management and staff. It's great to stay in a hotel that makes you feel so welcome with it's warm and friendly atmosphere.

Ballygarry never fails to amaze me. Top class in 2012 as it was when I last visited in 2009. They really know how to look after their guests. Food is top quality too.

I'm from Kerry now living in Kildare but every time I go home (once a month) I try to get to ballygarry for a bowl ( or 2!) of their delicious chowder. It truly is the nicest I've ever tasted. My only complaint is the bowls served in the bar are tiny, more like cups. But it's Devine!
Known amongst locals to be a fabulous wedding venue, never disappoints with food & service consistently great. Having been to a few weddings & stayed there the rooms are lovely, very welcoming & cosy. The hotel is set back from a busy road so it's very peaceful but easily accessible with lots of parking.
We recently had a meal here for my parents 70th & the staff ( who don't know us or us them) gave us a bottle of champagne & gave each of my parents a special dessert with ' happy birthday ' wrote out in chocolate! Such a nice touch that we all really appreciated.
My sister-in-law frequently uses the spa & raves about it. Again a well reputed amenity with competitive packages available.
I always found the staff to be very helpful & polite. But it's definitely the chowder that swings it for me!

Was using this venue for a recent event, everything was very well prepared for the event, from testing of av equipment, to layout of tables, integrated sound system etc. The day went well but its made all the easier when the team at Ballygarry carry out their duties in a very unobtrusive manner. Very impressed with the attention to detail and will be recommending this venue to other colleagues who may visit this part of the country from time to time

Lovely setting, bar is a bit small, but very pleasant. Main complaint is that the service is as slow as ever. On sitting down we waited over 10 minutes before a waiter came round, then another 25 minutes for the lunch to arrive. As for desert, we had to get up to the counter to attract someones attention to get service. Food was average, not good enough for the price you had to pay.
So if you are on a tight time limit for your lunch, i would give this place a miss.

Dear Triplover51,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I have noted your comments which are not ones which we would expect to receive. The bar does get very busy, and with our recent new menu changes even more so.

I do hope you will revisit us again in the future.

Kind regards,
