Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa

Ballygarry is an excellent hotel and the level of customer service makes it what it is-management are obviously very much on the ball when it comes to training of staff, decor, thinking of guests comfort etc. Staff were excellent, in particular the girls in the spa and the men in the bar. The superior room we stayed in was massive compared to the last couple of superiors we've stayed in Ireland. Bathrooms are not overly luxurious or special, but still very good. Loved the little touches like the chocolates on your pillows, juice/smoothies in spa. Food was very good, maybe not as high quality as I was expecting, but very good for what it was. Bar was nice and cosy for a pint. Spa was really great and the highlight of our stay. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Have just returned from a five night stay at Ballygarry House with my wife and 2-year old daughter and felt the need to post an immediate review recommending it as highly as possible. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly from reception to bar/restaurant and housekeeping and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is comfortable and warm with a really cosy feel and some delightful quiet areas to sit and chat or drink if you tire of the bar. The new garden area is extensive and peaceful and although we didn't try the spa it came highly recommended. The quality of all the food we ate was extremely high and the hotel even supplied gluten-free bread for our daughter. The hotel can be busy at weekends with weddings but as far as we were concerned that added to the atmosphere and anyway the function room is separated from the main body of the hotel. An ideal base for exploring the Dingle and Iveragh peninsulas.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Ballygarry House Hotel for a weekend and we have a fabulous time. I felt obliged to comment as it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel itself has beautiful interiors and from the moment you step inside you are treated like royalty. The staff from frontdesk to the restaurant were the friendliest I have ever come across and they went out of their way to make us feel special. The hotel is on the roadside but we had no problems with noise and really enjoyed the walks in the beautiful landscaped gardens. The rooms were stunning and the bathroom was pure luxury. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the menus offered excellent choices. The breakfast was to die for! All in all, I would highly recommend the Ballygarry House Hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights in the new wing, facing the back garden. Lovely large well-equipped ground floor room, fresh milk for tea at our request. The food & service were excellent, all staff friendly and attentive, but beware -- the hotel is popular with large coach parties who eat their meals in the sole dining-room. Breakfast is served from 7-30 to 10-00 but because the tour parties have a different (and more limited) selection, the full buffet is not produced until after 9-00. You may order from the menu card but this is not the same as choosing your own. The parties can be VERY noisy and turning up the background music only serves to increase the shouting between tables. This is especially unpleasant for the evening meal - hardly the relaxing ambience that the hotel proudly boasts. The wedding parties have a separate banqueting suite but spill out into the gardens (which are inviting) This wears a bit thin at 2am when they are still singing outside the window ! The hotel would be much improved by having another dining area - they seem to be able to cope admirably with large numbers and at no time was service to ourselves impaired. On this point alone we would not return unless we were well out of the holiday season.

Satyed there last Thursday for a wedding in the hotel, and it was superb! The weather was fantastic and the landscaped gardens were magical! There's no denying it's not the cheapest place to stay in Tralee but after our night in the 'Grand Hotel' we definately missed the luxury, professional and personal approach of Ballygarry House!

The rooms are magnificant, clean, spacious, well furnished and practical! The bar food was yummy on arrival and the wedding reception with Jazz band in the gardens was a treat!

The Spa is fantastic but make sure you know what you're paying for the hotle prices don't always include access to the outdoor hot tub etc. and entry is €30 pp.

Alll in all a fantastic stay and I'll be beooking another weekend away!
