Beautiful old hotel perfectly located. Pub downstairs had lots of locals and great traditional Irish music on Friday night. Hotel is 3 old residences combined. There is no lift but staff enthusiastically carried bags upstairs. Room was renovated with new bathroom. Breakfast was great. Beautiful park a block away. Parking was tricky. Would stay again in a minute.

Stayed here for 3 nights over d festival weekend...absolutely excellent location right in d heart of things, within walking distance of all shops and pubs. Greeted warmly and promptly at reception. Room was at d back of d hotel which must be d older part.

Room was v small and had a double and single bed but in no way would be able to accommdate 3 ppl. V small and v odd arrangement of furniture...had a chair beside d mirror which just took up space! Also v long walk up many staircases which got v tiring.

Breakfast was ok except der was an older waitress on duty all mornings who was not a bit nice...didn't look like she wanted to be der and never onced smiled! Also was told breakfast finished at 10 even thou der was a sign outside sayin breakfast til 12! Would have been nice to come down a little later after a few late nites!

All in all had a pleasant stay. The grand hotel is just that...grand.

We stayed at The Grand Hotel Tralee recently. We found it to be a most enjoyable experience. Yes there was music at night but we were warned in advance as it was during the festival week.
The Hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the food was excellant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a Hotel which is central and full of old fashioned charm, set in an elegant building then I would highly recommend The Grand.

My only regret at the Grand Hotel in Tralee was that we did not have more time to stay. We found it to be a magnificent place, and had two rooms for our family on the third floor. Each room was obviously recently redecorated and absolutely beautifully furnished. I travel frequently and can state that the finishes in each room – fabrics, bathroom, crisp bed linens, furniture, pictures, rugs – were absolutely top notch and rivaled anything I have seen in any other hotel. In fact, the room reminded me quite a bit of rooms I have stayed in at the Fitzpatrick Manhattan in New York City. Beyond the lovely and very comfortable room, the staff was wonderful and more than accommodating and the food in the pub where we ate was wonderful (poached cod and fresh vegetables was excellent). I had been somewhat concerned because of negative reviews based on room size, but it is a hotel in the city center and I could not have been more happily surprised. We will unquestionably stay in Tralee again so that we can stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: The third floor hallway was lovely.

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Grand Hotel in Tralee and were very impressed by both the hotel and its staff.
The room was fine and clean. The bed was a full king-size, with an excellent, firm matress. The bathroom (shower) was modern, clean and fully functional.
On the catering side, the breakfast was just great. We did dine in at the hotel on two evenings. The menu offered plenty of variety and the portion sizes of the starters and main courses was ample, even for the largest of apetites. the quality of the food was very good, too.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - even though we were there at probably the busiest time of the year (during the International Rose of Tralee festival). One staff member who really is worth a mention in Tina (I think she's the Assistant Manager). She is so helpful and friendly, with no request for assistance being the slightest bother to her.

The standard of the hotel was fine, nothing special. Unfortunately, on the night we were there, there was very loud music in the bar. Our family, including a one-year-old baby, did not get to sleep until 2am. We will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid anything above the bar!

The Grand Hotel is situated centrally in the heart of Tralee. It is definitely the friendliest and cleanest hotel I have stayed in for a long time. From the check in time to leaving the staff couldn't help you enough. As for the breakfast in the restaurant, well it was excellent!!! With a choice of fruit juice and cereals then followed by a range of hot cooked breakfasts all cooked to order. When I return to Tralee in the future I will definitely be using the hotel again!!!
