“Fantastic hotel in brilliant location with superb staff and excellent food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2011

We held our wedding in Ballyroe in early May 2011. We held the service downstairs followed by a meal in the Summit restaurant and the evening reception in the main ballroom. The whole occasion went brilliantly. The setting of this hotel and the fabulous views it allows over Tralee only added to the enjoyment. We had 95 guests sit down to a 5 course meal and everyone I spoke to afterwards agreed it was one of the best meals they have had.
We had over 80 guests staying in the hotel over a period of 3 days and I stayed there myself 2 of those nights. The rooms are all modern and certainly more a 4 or 5 * standard. Everyone had a most enjoyable stay.
The management and staff were absolutely superb and I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel whether it is for a night away or a relaxing break.
Anyone thinking of booking a function should book this hotel as I certainly will for future family occasions.
I travel extensively in my job and this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We were on our way to a wedding in Ardfert coming from Maynooth and stopped off at Ballyroe to see if we could use their bathroom to change for the wedding. The manager very kindly let us (three couples) change in one of their suites . Unfortunately we could only order coffee as the kitchen was not open until 12.30 and we were there just before 12. We would have been very happy to order 6 lunches but perhaps another time.
Thanks very much for the hospitality.

We recently attended a wedding at this hotel and were pleasantly suprised. On arrival we recieved a warm welcome from a very friendly front desk.Good buzz in the bar and the wedding room was nicely decorated. Food very good, we also ate lunch on the Sunday and it was tasty. Some of the Guests had issues with the heating on the ground floor. It seemed like only the upper floors had heat, which I personally found very warm.Management provided heaters which helped.
I Would recomend this hotel.

I attended a wedding here at the end of january and was expecting the usual rushed service and indifference that some hotels give when you're at a wedding. However, what a great surprise! The staff were wonderful, the hotel warm and very welcoming and the canapes plentiful and on offer from the minute we arrived.
The hotel itself is set with wonderful views and is beautifully decorated, combining the old and the new sections of the hotel very well.
The pictures are a good example, but need to also include the function room which has a lovely verandah for people to go out and is furnished and well lit, perfect as an add on for a hot summer wedding or function.
The rooms are well decorated, clean and the beds are very comfortable.
The food served at the wedding was beautifully cooked, well presented and the staff very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are a credit to the owners.
Breakfast the next morning was in the panoramic restaurant. Cereals, fruit juice and fresh fruit were self service and a selection of cooked breakfast was on offer in addition, again well cooked and hot.
I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel for a short break or a wedding venue. It is a ten minute drive from Tralee town centre, plenty of parking and beautiful drives to the beach.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights during the long weekend in Oct, we got great value for money. Very modern hotel on the outside but inside is a mix of old and new which works very well. Very clean, great staff genuinely friendly and chatty. Our room was on 2nd floor with a balcony which we didn't expect, so good surprise. Fab views from the balcony. Had dinner in bar on the first night in one of the booths, very cosy, couldn't fault it. It was around 5 min drive into the town, which was fine we had no problem finding parking in the town at any time, lots of cafes with great food in town. We travelled to Kilarney from this hotel as we thought the hotels in Kilarney were overpriced. Kilarney is only around 35 - 40 min away and well worth the visit. We were very happy with our stay here. Would recommend to couples and families.

Just had to write in relation to the amazing time we had at our wedding in Ballyroe Heights Hotel on the June Bank Holiday weekend 2010. From the minute we booked our wedding reception with Mark (hotel manager) approx 18 mths before our wedding day nothing was ever a problem with them. I had being over and back liasing with them as I do not live in Co.Kerry any more in relation to all details of the reception and all I ever heard back from them was 'thats not a problem' and it never was, every meinute detail was listened to and carried out. We also had the pleasure of dealing with Mike (another manager) who was with us on the day of our wedding and everything we asked for/needed he was there on hand. In relation to the hotel as a whole, scenery in Ballyroe is breathtaking not many Tralee hotels can offer this, food at reception was piping hot, served quickly and never heard so many people talk after a wedding on the food. As half our guests were not from Kerry and made the trip for the weekend we still hear reports back on what a great weekend they had in Ballyroe Heights and the food always gets a mention especially the mashed turnips!! Overall for weddings in the Tralee area you cannot beat Ballyroe as a whole package- it has the scenery, service, great food, great accomadation for us it was just perfect, I cannot recommend enough Ballyroe Heights Hotel for any type of occasion- hope to be back there soon.
