We attended a family wedding here on Friday. We had an amazing time and the meal was fantastic. I'm still thinking about the passion fruit sorbet, to die for. We were looked after from the time we arrived to the time we left. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a stop even if it's just for something to eat. We will definitely be back.

The Ballyroe is in a beautiful location overlooking the bay! The lobby and upstairs restaurant are relaxing and inviting. My room was clean, spacious and well decorated with a large, well lit bathroom! I would happily stay in the Ballyroe again!

Stayed here on on a DealRush promotion which I paid €165 for 2 nights B&B with 2 evening meals which was cracking value. The room was very nice, couldn't have been a shade bigger but we had a balcony and a great view of the mountains. The food was very average for what I thought was a good 3* hotel, very average and the service was quite slow! We stayed midweek so maybe this could have been the reason but probably shouldn't have been an excuse! It's about 7 mins drive from Tralee town centre so about €10 in a taxi each way if heading into town. Very quiet around during the week though!

We attended a wedding on 31st May 2014 at this venue. The hotel was fab, we got a meal to die for and the drinks from the bar were priced reasonable, (not always the case in some venues). We stayed over night in room 30, its quiet near reception and just downstairs a little from the ballroom. I cant say the room would have been soundproof if you were looking for an early night but as a wedding guest it was roomy, lovely decoration and bathroom bang up to date. Shower was normal, not anything too powerful. The view from the hotel and especially from the breakfast room was to die for. We could see Tralee Bay in the distance along with the windmill at Blennerville. We will visit again, would love another wedding there,, any offers

We decided to take a midweek trip to Ballyroe after seeing some good reviews on here. We got a great deal through a 3rd party and we weren't disappointed. The staff were always friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff, and the place was well kept at all times. Just outside Tralee and a short 15 minute drive to the beautiful Banna Strand. Hotel is up high and has lovely views. Only small complaint is that there wasn't much hot water on the morning of departure. Highly recommended.

Check in was the swiftest process I have ever encountered in any hotel. It was as if there was a huge queue behind us and the receptionist was in a race against time.. although there was nobody behind us. No food times no check out times - nothing explained. Name sign heres your keys go to the lift at the end thank you bye. Over effiecency to the point of being rude. Slightly friendlier after she jumped down from the shelf she was sitting on the following morning on check out.

Room was very very clean and well worth the money paid.

Mossie the waiter is an absolute delight!! We came to the bar with a sour taste in our mouths from the abrupt receptionist, but his friendly character cheered us up. He really is a credit to the hotel, and very efficient.

Overall it was an excellent offer and a great location.. it's a good thing some people like us look past first impressions.

We stayed on a great value two day break and were really pleased with everything. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly ( particularly Emma at reception) the room was perfect, fab bathroom, really nice food and the booths in the bar were perfect for us as we have a 3 month old so we could eat and have a drink without feeling like we were in anyones way! Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
