“Love Fureys .”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

I'm so pleased to write a review on this lovely friendly pub/ resturant .
Although I don't live in Ireland now we visit it every time we go back .
I was born and grew up in this area . Fureys was always my Dads local . He spent best part of his life in Fureys .
Although it was sold many years ago when Marie Furey passed away . R.I.P. The current owners carried on the Furey name which is lovely .
It is a lovely place to go for food and drink . The food is always great , and in winter a roaring fire as well . Nothing better .
Look forward to calling in for a nice pint of Guinness in the coming months .

“Good but not great”
Reviewed 14 March 2014

Have stopped here a few times and it's usually decent...but the last couple times, it's lacking. The mushroom starter was nice and had a light batter. Sadly, that's where it ended.
The burger is now bland, tasteless and comes on a huge, very dry roll. It looked thrown together...it came with a side salad that if it had dressing on it....you couldn't tell.

The chicken was bland and overpriced.. Well, everything was overpriced. The prawn cocktail was near 9 euro as a starter!

It's a nice, inviting space for a drink, but I'm afraid after this last trip, we will be looking elsewhere.

“Warm welcome”
Reviewed 13 February 2014 via mobile

On entering this pub u were met my 2 friendly staff and a blazing fire. Made feel very welcome straight away. Food was top class, i had lasagne and my partner had steak sándwich. Lovely chunky homemade chips. Had visites this place on a sunday but they dont serve food on sundays which was a big let down. I will diffently make a 2nd visit for food at this lovely pub.

“Lovely food and relaxed atmosphere!”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

I've eaten here a few times and it never disappoints the food is top class, I normally get the lasagne or steak served with a big bowl of homemade fries. The Desserts are homemade and very tasty. The pub itself a rather small and can get a bit crowded when busy. There is a stove in the back of the restaurant which makes it very cosy especially on a winters evening. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

“A warm Irish welcome”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Went to Fureys Bar twice over the Christmas and New Year period. We were a group of 5 - all ages. The pub was spotlessly clean and warm - lots of fires. The food was excellent - all of us had great meals- Chicken Supreme, Steak Sandwich, Burger and Salmon . The Guinness was excellent. The atmosphere was great. Really enjoyed it . Its not a pretentious place and you may have to wait for a table or sit at the bar(What a problem with the lovely Guinness!)
