Simple, delicious and beautifully presented food. Impeccable service from all staff and wonderful surroundings (Kilkenny Castle). Couldn't ask for more!

“One of the best restaurants in Kilkenny”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We are locals and are regulars at Campagne but only got around to visiting Anocht last night for the first time. From starter to dessert the meal was excellent - packed full of complimentary flavours, the best local artisan ingredients, with stunning presentation. I recommend in particular the potted prawn and crab started, pulled pork (with heavenly mash) and chocolate cremeux. Service was first rate - prompt, very friendly and with a very good knowledge of the menu. The decor inside is also worth a mention. The castle yard buildings are all beautiful anyway, but the way the daytime restaurant is subtly and elegantly transformed for Anocht at night is very cleverly done. A lovely laid back atmosphere with gorgeous views of the castle accross the road. And at 23.95 for the early bird it's great value for the quality of food and service you receive. We'll definitely be back very soon!

“The lamb was amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

We had dinner here two nights in a row, we loved it so much. Enjoyed the small but important touches of beautiful glass vases with fresh flowers, the linen drapes to create the evening spaces, the pottery plates. But the food was the real reason we came back. The 12 hour slow cooked lamb was amazing. Catered well to vegetarians. The space was a little warm, but that was the only thing we could fault. Attentive service.

“Showcasing Irish food at it's finest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

We dined here last weekend and could not get over just what a great experience it was. We've long been regulars of the daytime restaurant at Kilkenny Design so had no idea what to expect from Anocht, their fine dining weekend addition.

The food was beautiful, the menus are designed sourcing local produce and it's clear from what you get that only the freshest seasonal ingredients are being used. We had the Kilmore Quay potted prawns and crabmeat followed by the monkfish and confit of pork belly, finishing then with the chocolate cremeux (to share by that stage!). The house breads were also a highlight, particularly the Guinness and Treacle brown soda bread.

Amazing addition to the culinary scene in Kilkenny boasting excellent service as well as a delicious menu bursting with flavors, we were very well looked after and look forward to coming back!

“Best dining experience in Kilkenny”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

The restaurant is modern and serves delicious food. All the courses I had were very well prepared both in flavour and appearance. The bread they serve was amazing along with the herbed butters. Service was attentive. Best meal I had whilst in Kilkenny.
