We went on the recommendation of our B&B host and were not disappointed. When we arrived, we were sat near the bar area, but they moved us into the bar because live music was going to begin. The food, atmosphere, and music were great. Our kids are a bit younger, but it wasn't a problem to stay as long as we liked for the music.

We went here for the early session - music and storytelling in the upstairs bar starts at 6.30pm. It got very busy by about 7pm. The small group played a good variety of music and there were some entertaining / humorous stories. Great 'free' entertainment. The menu is quite small but they also had a special on - roast beef, when we were there. The beef was very well cooked but was still very tasty and exceedingly tender. The Irish stew was pretty big and was also great. Staff were very friendly and efficient and food arrived promptly.

Found this fantastic historical bar, with a beer garden out back and places to eat and drink inside. We ate here every night of our stay - staff were fantastic = we even had our own "usual" table for the 3 of us, and my daughter (an irish dancer) was offered a spot as entertainment with the added bonus I could drink for free lol - she wouldnt do it though!

Food was gorgeous and even for my mother who is fussy to say the least she enjoyed every bite. Prices so reasonable. Great entertainment.

This restaurant was recommended by a shop owner. The Irish Stew was great. Those who had the Bangers and Mash reported it as being delicious as well. The entertainment for the evening we were there was a man teaching a group of volunteer customers how to play the Bodhran (Irish drum). It was great fun and a member of our party volunteered and now wants a Bodhran. There is also a bit of interesting history to the place.

Really old place with atmosphere. We danced the night away to a fantastic band. Loved the fact it was the oldest pub in Kilkenny. Food was good. Cabs outside which is a bonus when it's time to leave.
