Arrived to nore valley was met by a non friendly man, who not only over charged me but also handed me a list of rules attached to the camp site. I was lead to beleive that this camp site was children orantate with a playground for them to play in but all that was there was one swing a see saw and slide, which they told rudley to get off at excatly 10.30pm. On the sat night my family and i where playing a card game relaxing and at 12.15am we where shocked and frightned when we heard a loud heavy knock on the caravan door. It was the "prison guard" of nore valley. He is a creepy man who haunts the camp site day and night listening and interfreing in peoples breaks away ensuring that they dont relax and break a "Rule". NORE VALLEY is the most non social camp i have ever stayed in we have toured not only around Ireland but europe, and have never came across such a strict and non friendly run site. i would never recommend nore valley to any one living as only the dead could comply to the rules of all in by 10.30 and no talking or walking after midnight.

We're just back from 2 weeks in Nore Valley - at least our third time there. It's a great site, well landscaped - not just a flat field - nice mature trees, but not a haven for midges!

What sets this apart from many campsites are the family oriented features, into which a lot of thought has been put:
Animal feeding & viewing - deer, goats, sheep, chicks, rabbits, etc
Rides in a tractor & Trailer around the farm
A superb three dimensional maze - with different permutations
Straw bounce
Crazy golf
Play park

Having said that, the site isnt so completely geared for children that it seems like an overgrown playground. It is superbly well done. It is a place for people of all ages.

There is also the delightful aroma of freshly baked rolls and wheaten bread wafting out of the reception in the morning - these and homemade biscuits and pizzas and quiche etc can be purchased on site.

The folks that run it are great - friendly, helpful, and ensuring that it is a fairly quiet site, despite being able to take quite a number of units. A previous reviewers complaint sounds like a a case of sour grapes - we've certainly not come across any such problems. We've been there three years, as well as on many other noisier sites and have been really thankful for the quiet at night, which allowed our young ones to sleep.

The showers and toilets are clean, and cleaned regularly throughout the day.

There is plenty to see out and about too - from the pottery which our kids loved watching, to the glass blowing, to the candle making - and that's before you even get into Kilkenny city itself.

It was a wet couple of weeks for us this year, but there was enough to do so that it wasnt a washout. On a drier sunnier year, we;ve been content to sit around the campsite and let the kids play.

Top class, we'll be back.
