I visited this hotel last month with three friends and we all had the same opinion when leaving that the hotel was beautiful and the staff so welcoming and friendly! Kilkenny was a great spot, you could walk into town or get a taxi for reception, we found ourselves eating for the entire weekend in the hotel as the food was so nice, the bar always had a good atmosphere and even though there was a wedding on that had the hotel very busy we still felt that we got the attention and service that we should. The rooms were really spcaious and comfortable - mine had a view to the little farm they have (a great idea if you have a family as the kids in the hotel seemed to love it!) , myself and my friends all got spa treatments which were amazing! I have to thank paula in the spa for going out of her way to fit us in and make us feel so relaxed! the spa itself was beautiful, and the out door jacuzzi (even in April!) was fab! I normally am not great at leaving reviews but I just felt that the staff in the Newpark were so good to us and really made the trip that i had to post a review, its so nice to see staff that genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs and helping the guests that it made our stay so good so thank you! I am already planning a trip back in a few months :)

My Husband and I have stayed here three times and love the hotel. The service is always brilliant, the rooms are immaculate and the outdoor jacuzzi is just fabulous! The hotel is a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle which is not necessarily a bad thing.. They have the best breakfast buffet we've ever seen!

Fantastic busy hotel on outskirts of Kilkenny ( not walking distance to city) you have to go if only for the leisure facilities .. The outdoor infinity pool is a piece of heaven , there is a small pet farm on the hotel grounds also . Stayed there for a wedding it was a great night lovely venue and food was amazing woud definitely recommend :)

I recently stayed in The Newpark Hotel with three friends. From before even arriving at the hotel we knew it was going to be good.paula in the Spa was extremely accommodating in getting us all times for the spa even though the spa was extremely busy that day. The rest of the staff in the spa were equally as friendly when we arrived.
The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms were big, bathrooms really big and beds really comfy! The public areas are nice to repax, we spotted some groups having afternoon tea, we were jealous we didnt have time for it! We had drinks and dinner in the bar which was lively, their was a real mixture of guests staying there which was nice. Overall I would highly reccommend the newpark hotel and it's genuinely friendly staff who seem to all be from the local area. Oh better not forget to mention the great little wildlife farm at the hotel.... Not just for kids!

We should spent the May bank holiday in this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay very child friendly, good bags on arrival, pet farm and friendly staff all made our stay a good one. Bistro & Bar Service was a bit chaotic a room on the small side but given the weekend that was in it the hotel was quite busy so perhaps understandable. Overall a great weekend and I would certainly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here with my wife and two young boys. Overall we had a great time. I'm not the biggest fan of Kilkenny (for families, its great for partying) but this place made the trip a lot better. Also its a great base to explore some lovely surrounding countryside, most notably the fabulous Inistioge ... We did a family weekend package including a dinner and visit to Nicholas Mosse for lunch.

The room was a pretty standard family room with 3 good beds (351). We slept well. The bath/shower was disappointing, the space at the shower is too small and I had to run around to get wet in the very low pressure shower .. It was so bad we ended up showering in the spa (because we were using the pool anyway) ...

Food wise - dinner was pretty good for this type of restaurant on the first night. I enjoyed a lovely seafood starter of potted prawns and smoked salmon followed by a main of seabass... I was very disappointed with the carvery in the bar the next day - a lump of greasy fatty lamb with undercooked chips.

Breakfast is pretty standard for this class of hotel.

Service overall was excellent; we could not fault it from any stage in our stay.

The facilities of the hotel are very good - it has a lovely indoor pool with outdoor heated relaxing mini pool (a bit like like a big jacuzzi) ... there's also a really cool addition of a mini petting farm around the back (sheep, goats, Llama, Cows, Pigs, horses, various fowl and some smaller rabbits and hamsters) ... which the kids loved.

Overall it is good value ... it doesn't deserve the tripadvisor rating "very good" but nor did it deserve "average" ... so I gave it 4 stars as the fairer rating of the two that it falls between.

Two super meals, all the swimming we could wish for, close enough to Kilkenny for a longish walk on a fine day and lovely staff who were very helpful and kind, especially to our youngest who got herself locked in a loo. The farm on the grounds was a big attraction and needless to say getting to hold baby guinea pigs, rabbits etc made their weekend. There was a lot going on in the hotel (weddings & communions) but we didn't really notice.

Room Tip: Family room had lots of space even with sofa bed in addition to double & single.
