“2 Day stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Stayed in the Newpark 2 adults and 2 children had a fantastic time there . The room was good and big, the breakfast was good plenty to choose from . The pool and gym were lovely and kept very well. We had dinner in the bar on one of the evenings and it was very good lovely quality and price was ok as well ( a lot better than a couple of places we had food in the city). One of the big surprises we had was they had a animal farm out the back and yes is was lovely , i think the hotel should make a bigger noise about having it because if you have small children they will love it.

From our arrival to checking out, I found the new park hotel to be a lovely hotel. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The superior family room is quiet big and that included having a travel cot there. On the same floor as the family rooms there is an additional room with bottle steriliser, microwave, coffee machine, TV activity toys for toddlers. And across the corridor from this, there is room for older children/ teenagers with a play station etc. This is in addition to a farm on site with lots of animals that you can help feed, two play ground areas, and a go cart track. The children's swimming pool is quite big and is heated. I would stay again and would recommend it as excellent family hotel. Plus it is only a short distance from Kilkenny city, with mc donnagh junction shopping centre only about 3 min drive away.

Room Tip: Superior family room is very big and family rooms have the added bonus of being on the second floor...

We only stayed one night. The spa was super nice. THe hotel has a really nice feel to it. Nice lounge area with a fireplace and big comfy chairs to have tea and coffee. It is quite a large hotel so we had to walk quite far to our room which is no biggie. I do believe we must have stayed in the old wing... it was nice and clean but a bit dated. The shower was also really small. As an average sized woman, my shoulders touched the shower curtain and the wall at the same time. We had dessert at the restaurant and breakfast at the hotel dining room. Both were a bit disappointing. I would say this is a great place for relaxation with the spa. It is outside the city centre but no biggie if you drive. We got a big discount through booking.com.... had we paid full price I would have been disappointed in the room. Be sure to request the newer wing--especially if paying full price.

The rooms needed a lot of updating. This was our last stop, and it did not compare to the other hotels, although it seems like they are in the process of improving the rooms. The towels were bad, but the bed comfy. The breakfast was very nice, and they set it out early for us on our last morning because we had an early flight.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer section!

We stayed at New park over a glorious June weekend. The hotel is very comfortable with a fab spa and gym which is free to guests, towels supplied! The outdoor infinity pool is a must. The cost was reasonable for two nights B&B and dinner. The food is great and the service fab, the staff are very obliging. The hotel does good business so there were plenty of people around which made for a good atmosphere. The hotel is located very close to the city, only a few miles, easily accessible by taxi.

This is a great family hotel it was our second time to visit the hotel in the last year. There is great amenities for kids to the older people in your family from the swimming pool & spa to the playground, farm & pedal cars for the kids mind you I think more adults had better fun on them than the kids. We had a large family meal on the Saturday evening in the restaurant the food was just super again. The manager could not do enough for us there was a little mix up with our numbers for the meal but it was sorted out promptly. The only gripe I had was the room we stayed in (331) was really warm all day the window only opened a small bit & it was really hot day and night we had two young kids so it didn't really help with them. There was an electric fan but that wasn't great. The room itself was lovely walk in shower & a bath. As I said only a small gripe but there is one thing for sure we will most (Definitely) be going back here again thanks to all the very friendly staff & management at the Newpark hotel.

Excellent value for money, evening meal included top quality. Reception staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful, recommending and booking another restaurant in town, a great recommendation too! Lots of entertainment for children including early teens. Highly recommended
