“A great family friendly hotel”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

Really enjoyed our stay at the Newpark last year so booked it again for this year again as usual it did not dissapoint. Staff in every part of hotel are so friendly and accomadating nothing is too much trouble. Choice form breakfast buffet in morn was amazing again staff brilliant catering for big volume of families all there at same time. Kid's facilities great from the outdoor farm (with its cute baby chicks) ,go karting, outdoor games , walks ,to it's splendid pool and kids clubs. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This was our first time staying at the hotel and We stayed here over the Aug bank holiday weekend and overall we enjoyed our stay. The facilities for parents and children are very good. The only criticisms I would have are
that the pool was very cold, the food in the kids club is poor and on our last in the hotel we were woken at 3am by what i can only describe as a fight taking place and seemed to take ages to be sorted. But overall the kids really enjoyed their stay

My sister and I stayed overnight in July and enjoyed our stay overall. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely, despite being on the ground floor facing the main entrance. I was very concious of people popping out for a smoke outside reception area but no other rooms were available.
We had dinner in the restaurant, thanks to Stephen, the manager on duty that evening who encouraged us beautifully into that decision - he's a real asset to the hotel! The food was absolutely lovely, and very well priced, 24e for 2 course I think, excellent quality and delicious. Our waitrss was Jackie: great service and very friendly. We sat in the bar chatting for ages afterwards, with no pressure on us to buy drink etc. When we had to move as they wanted to set up for the next day (the bar doubles as a bistro, food looked good there too), the barman gave us our coffee on the house to apologise for the disturbance, a good touch I felt and unexpected.
The only issue we had was that when we eventually turned in, I had to call for a new sheet as mine had brown speckles on it, some unidentified substance which was visible as soon as I turned back the quilt.
Not pleasant but dealt with quickly as possible, with apologies, by the night porter (who admitted he wasn't used to changing sheets even at home, v funny!).
Next day the opersations manager, Ger, did apologise again (after we had asked to speak to someone on checking out) and compensated us for the disturbance, promising to follow-up on it.
Although it was annoying, the matter was dealt with as best as possible and apologies made: it was a shame because otherwise the hotel was lovely, the bathrooms were perfect - the walk-in shower was fabulous! - and the staff were great. And it seems to cater brilliantly for kids - we enjoyed strolling around the ';petting zoo' at the back and the little park, and there's a kids' club run on site too.
It is a good 25 minute walk at least into the centre of KK so call a taxi and save your energy for strolling around the castle and town itself!

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms, food and service in this hotel. Excellent value for money. Really nice play area for children, petting zoo. Highly recommended.

Only disadvantage was that it was a really hot (for Ireland!) day and the rooms don't have a/c -- but I suspect that this is a rare problem!

Myself and the family have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Newpark Hotel. It is our 4th visit as a family, two adults and four kids. All I can say is that the standards are as high as ever, the service second to none, and the Kids Camp even better than before. The hotel have invested in an even better kids club, note it was always good, now it is brilliant. As I have said before we are looking forward to our next visit, this includes the kids. I think it should be stated that we spent a few nights in a Galway hotel which boasted that it provided similar services for families, not a chance. This is one hotel I can recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: They are all good, but if you can get a superior room, go for it.

We booked a family break for 3 nights for 2 adults and 2 children and none of us wanted to leave. The staff were exceptional, including the Kids Club Team.
The food was excellent, we dined in the bar and restaurant and breakfast was superb and very well organised considering how busy it was. The leisure facilities were spotless and the outdoor pool an experience not to be missed. Great safe kids pool and jacuzzi also.
The play areas, farm and grounds were very well located and the children were free to explore in a safe secure environment. Our boys, aged 5 & 7 embraced the activities organised in the kids club and this meant we could relax and enjoy facilities in the hotel, knowing that they were happy and enjoying themselves.
We will definitely return again with the children but I would also highly recommend this hotel for anyone who does not have children also.
Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. I could not fault either hotel or any of the staff we met. It was a pleasant surprise to get smiles from everyone, the friendliest hotel we have stayed in for a long time!

Stayed in hotel on 29th and 30th June as a party of 2 adults and 2 children . From the moment we arrived we could not fault this hotel. The facilities for the children are excellent, including a petting farm at the back of the hotel which really occupied our 9yr old. For adults there is a excellent leisure centre which has a added bonus of a outdoor hydrotherapy pool. The family room we had was spacious and spotless. Breakfast in this hotel is the best selection I have ever seen. Every aspect for breakfast was catered for and staff could not have been nicer. Will definitely be going back...well worth it's 4 star rating. For a 2 night stay with all the amenities we were charged only €124 a night for all of us which included breakfast. Excellent value......
