The good - great location to visit the sights; excellent breakfast
The average - staff-didn't make much effort; the room-tired, and the shower didn't drain, to the point we could only run the water long enough rinse; THE NOISE-all night, doors slamming, people yelling up and down the hall. Awful. Don't stay here to sleep.

The staff here are very nice and friendly. Room nicely sized and comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner were included and very good.
So nice, Im going back again.
Kilkenny is a great city with lots of pubs with live music. The hotel is a great location, near castle and main shopping/entertainment area.

Stayed here on a Monday and Tuesday night, so no mad party's. Very good check in, room was clean and fine for a 2 night stay. Lady's may need to know the lighting is not great for applying makeup. We eat in the lounge the first night and it was very nice, there are candles and table cloths on the tables at night so relaxing. We had our meal in the restaurent on the second night, braised beef was great and we had a nice glass or house red. Breakfast was nice also as I am fussy about the way my food is cooked and that was no problem I even had a mix of stuff from the menu. Good value as I said above

Room Tip: Stay on upper floors on the side street or to back of hotel if u don't like noise.

Dispite being between the Left Bank bar and Morrisons night club, this is a lovely hotel and the noise from both the fore mentioned isnt an issue. Have stayed 3 times whilse in Kilkenny and cannot recommend it enough. Ideal for couples weekend away. The multistory car park is right across the road too, great location. The staff are really nice too.

We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon on the basis of price. It was a real treasure. So close to the sights of Kilkenny. We toured Kilkenny Castle which is just around the corner & then had a nap to freshen ourselves before we grabbed a bite to eat. We ate in the hotel pub - I had the lamb shank (amazing!!!!) & my husband had the crab cakes. The crab cakes were decent but he prefers the ones that we get back home in VA & MD. But they were good. :-)
The room was right off the street but we slept soundly even with the window open.
Parking was a little confusing - the free parking is located off Ormonde in the Q Park but we had already parked in an open lot up the hill. Not bad though - only 5 Euro for overnight. Wish we had time to stay another night to explore Kilkenny & try more of their food! Breakfast was great - full Irish breakfast.
We would love to return in the future.

overnighted here this week. Hotel is very well located within touching distance of the castle and with free overnight parking. made feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. The bedroom was basic but comfortable and unusually did not have tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was partial buffet with the cooked portion served at your table. It is a personal preference of mine to have the breakfast fully buffet allowing one to choose for oneself but the food was good and it would be unfair to complain just because it did not fit my personal preference.Overall good value in a well located hotel with good food and friendly staff.

Myself and my husband stayed in this hotel for a one night break in Kilkenny. I have stayed here about 4 times and while the first couple of stays were great I felt that the last 2 were quite disappointing. On this trip I had booked a deluxe room but felt it fell short of this description. It was a good size but looked slightly shabby and there were a couple of minor issues such as the bathroom having no towel hanger beside the sink and there being no showerhead on the shower. This wasn't a huge problem as i enjoyed the jacuzzi bath instead. There are also no tea or coffee making facilities in the room- however we were told at reception just to ring down at any time and complimentary tea or coffee would be brought up to us. I rang for tea at 7.30 in the evening and by the time we were leaving for dinner at 8.30 there was still no sign of the tea arriving.
Like I say these are just minor quibbles but I feel the standards in the hotel have dropped in the last few years and there is a slightly shabby air about the paintwork, carpets etc.
The breakfast the next morning was adequate but nothing special.
On the plus side the reception staff were very nice and the hotel is in a great location in Kilkenny city.
