My husband and i spent a fab weekend in Zuni back in may. We were lucky enough to have an evening meal included in our stay and I have to say the food is amazing. The staff were very polite and helpful the only grip I would have is the bedrooms need a bit of TLC. Breakfast is a must.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise, beautifully decorated in white and mirrors, clean rooms comfortable beds and extremely kind and helpful staff. The original art on the walls was a nice touch. The breakfast was good and a pleasant place to eat with the double doors opened to the street with the sunshine pouring into the cafe.

Room Tip: You will love it!

Just back from a fantastic weekend for my sister's hen party and we had 10 out of the 13 rooms booked with a total of 22 of us in the group..... They gave myself and my sister the suite to stay in which was one of the nicest rooms I've been in with a huge amount of space... All the other rooms are very modern and nicely decorated.... The hotel is spotless and we were treated like royalty during our stay.... I would like to thank the manger and all the staff for their hospitality... Location wise it is right in the centre of everything... Perfect for friends or couples looking to enjoy all of what Kilkenny has to offer... No taxis needed.... We will be back!!!!

As much as a hotel room can just be a hotel room, it is nice to stay in a place that puts a little style and personality into the room. Getting to the room was a little funky with the different floor levels but that's the nature of converted buildings. At least there was an elevator to the room. The breakfast was very nice with great coffee. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. We didn't do dinner there, but it looked very busy with many happy diners. And the deciding factor for my selecting this hotel was the location. It is great for exploring the Kilkenny center.

Kilkenny can be so difficult to find a central room at short notice but we managed it at the Zuni. What's more, they upgraded us to the suite. Parking can be tight during the day as offices share the car park but at night spaces are plentiful.
The bedroom of the suite is impressive, decorated in a modern style with large bed, table, settee and large wall mounted flat screen TV. So chic.
There were, however a couple of drawbacks:
This is a town centre hotel there is some street noise especially after the pubs close.
The bathroom fails to match up to the impressive presentation of the bedroom. It's attention to detail, which is so surprising considering the impressive bedroom, there are tiles missing grout, the toilet holder loose on the wall and bath poorly sealed and there is a dent where the shower head had fallen and hit it.
Breakfast is taken in the cafe below and both the food and coffee are excellent. You can see how well thought of it is locally from the number taking breakfast in the morning.
We didn't eat an evening meal.
The drawbacks won't prevent us returning though, we still considered it very good as the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall the Zuni has much to recommend it in preference to the larger alternatives.

On paper, this hotel checked a lot of my 'wanted' list: centrally located to what I wanted to see, free parking on site, breakfast included so I didn't have to waste time searching around for something in the morning, and a reasonable price. Zuni delivered, and more. When we arrived, we couldn't find the car park so we parked on the side of a neighboring street and walked in to ask directions. The staff was very helpful with the gentleman walking me out to the side street then the main street and pointing out exactly where to go. That's probably the biggest challenge for this hotel: Finding the car park and the entrance. The hotel desk is behind the café (facing the main street) and in front of the fancier restaurant at the back of the hotel and easiest to find from the car park. A little challenging. But the staff were helpful, the hotel has a lift for bags, and the room was spacious and clean. The décor was black and white and crystal 'modern' but the double bed was large and comfy. Our room faced the courtyard in the side/back and was quiet at night. The breakfast is served in the café out front with a choice of items and was delicious. Many local people come in as well, most for a takeaway coffee and maybe a scone or muffin (which wasn't one of our choices, but the rest was so good who cared?) It's easy to walk to the local sights to enjoy this lovely little town. Take time to enjoy the Castle grounds - they are a large park with strolling paths and flowers. Loved Kilkenny and would happily return to Zuni.

Great central location, their own parking lot, and great food in their restaurant and cafe. We had a twin room, very chic and spacious. The prix fixe dinner was very good - NYC quality cooking. Affable staff.
A fantastic base for exploring this part of Ireland.
