“1st Class”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

For the second time in as many years, I just organized a 40-50 person conference at this hotel. I communicated regularly to the staff throughout the 2 days, everything that was done and the manner in which it was done was 1st class. Even when we had a few last-minute things come up, the staff acted and reacted in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. While some of the rooms might be a bit dated they were clean. The food from the breakfast buffet through to the lunch and 4-course set dinner menu got all kinds of rave reviews from our attendees. Excellent value.

I would also add that dealing with the managers, June, Seamus and Dawn was a pleasure. Lots of communication. Everything they said would happen, did happen as they had promised.

stayed one night and hotel is nice and rooms are clean. A little bit out of Kilkenny city but it is easy to get a taxi and costs 8 euro to the main street in city centre. Breakfast is good and all in all it is a fine hotel for the price you pay.

I was there for a stag. The rooms were good & not a bad hotel. The Dinner was enjoyable and the breakfast was of the buffet variety. Lots of choice. Its a perfect hotel for a stag or hen. The bars open late and the staff are good & not pedantic about timings etc. The main drawback was the deposit i paid when booking and i did not get it all back due to 2 of the party of 15 pulling out due to unforseen circumstances at the last minute. It did say that there was a strict 72 hour cancellation procedure so i had signed up to it. I do think this happens at all stag do's and the hotel are not pro active in reminding during check in as its a "cash cow". We spent 200 on dinner in hotel on Sat night (which was enjoyed by all & service was good) and god knows How much in the bar over the weekend (it would scare me to be reminded). Hindsight is a great thing. If i knew what was going to happen upon check out I would have been more wise and ate down town with the group. Once bitten etc etc.......

I attended the Macra's Mr personality festival here for two nights! It was a nice hotel and very clean.. The food was good for dinner.. the breakfast very bad.. The rooms are very clean but only have one plug socket beside tv so if you want to plug anything in you have to plug out tv etc.... when i was checking in they were putting down carpet so there was a bit of a smell in my room. Overall a good experience.. very friendly staff

I don't write reviews often but I said I have to do it this time. This hotel is very under rated! I can't recommend high enough the Springhill hotel as an wedding venue. Specious and very well decorated ballroom, food was just fab, all the staff from bar up to pool staff were always smiling and very friendly. The whole wedding was stress free and Martin and Seamus were very helpful so big Thank YOU! Rooms were clean and bed was nice and firm. Breakfast was tasty and hot. Also they have nice size gym and very nice pool with sauna and Jacuzzi to relax after hard night. Don't be fooled by bad reviews this hotel is great value for the money, well worth it your consideration.

Just back from this hotel, we got a great deal on b&b for two nights. The hotel is nicer inside than it looks from the outsde, rooms were spotless but I agree with other posters, the bathrooms have seen better days. The shower had to be turned up all the way to get any warm water, this meant it was too powerful....not a complaint if the thermostat had been working.
We ate dinner at the bar one night and I have to say....STAY AWAY FROM THE BURGERS! they are inedible.....we couldnt distinguish what form of meat was in them. They looked like spam !!! In this day and age there is no excuse not to make your own burgers if you have a kitchen, these were overly processed and frozen, we sent them back and had pizza instead whichnwas delicious!
The staff are very friendly and we had a great stay with them. No doubt about it tho, it is a 3 star hotel. Having said that, we would return as our kids loved the pool and we had no major complaints.

My husband and I stayed in the Spring-hill court hotel Kilkenny earlier this year.
It was the first time we ever had to get moved from a hotel room not once not twice but 3 times.
The first room they put us in was like been in a closet it was so tiny and dark while we hated to complain the staff were nice about it and moved us the second room was like been in a dirty ash tray stank of smoke and we are both smokers so imagine what it would have been like for a non smoker. In fairness to staff they did accommodate and move us again 3 time lucky heh... They moved us into a lovely room on the top floor great things looking up. So my husband decided to grab a shower and we'd head out..... The Shower would not turn off honest you couldn't make it up at this stage all I could do was laugh. They did leave a bottle of wine in the room to say sorry which was nice but I would have preferred just to check in somewhere stay in the first room and not have the drama.
