“Fantastic City View”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

This is really only a very old church, but 1 exception. The Tower. Its a VERY steep climb up several flights of steps (very steep). If your very unfit or anyway impaired mobility wise, Your better off not trying this climb. But for those who do the view is spectacular. It can be quite windy up there so leave the baseball caps in the pocket ;). The only thing i don't like is its way over priced (no charge for the church), but the good thing is You wont be told to come down due to queues. Only so many can go up at a time so its never crowded. Word of advice, the decent is as difficult as the accent. If You do chicken out have a look in the old graveyard and find some dates n the headstones. You'll be surprised. Above all ENJOY

“Quite a lot of unusual features”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Although the round tower can be seen from the city centre, it is quite a walk to the cathedral ... but well worth it. the guide sheet that you get is easy to follow around the marked route. a lot of information is provided on the sheet and at some of the locations. The raised tombs in the floor are fascinating and very unusual. Many of the carvings on the various tombs around the cathedral are well preserved and the carving are impressive. The architecture of the cathedral is beautiful and needs viewing from both inside and out.

“Tower worth a climb, cathedral worth a peek”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

We stopped by the cathedral and was able to climb the tower. The hours fluctuate for the tower so make sure to know when it is open. The view from the top is great, and the climb up was fun for all of us! The Cathedral was nice inside and worth a walk around.

“Vast View”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

The view from the top of the tower is well worth the many steep steps to climb. Ask for a student price. Also a pop round the cathedral is worth while; beautiful interior and pleasant staff. Talk to the knowlegable man at the base of the tower; he climbs it every day and knows a lot of the history around the area.

Looks great from the outside. Its costs just 4e for entrance. The Cathedral is nice, and well kept. Lots of history here but personally I felt there are other places just as good and more interesting in Kilkenny.
