“Strictly for tourists”

This place does great business and seems to be focused on the American tourist trade. Expensive for average food and average live music. Much better value and better experiences to be had elsewhere in the town.

“Canadians visit Lanigan's for the music and dancing - they weren't disappointed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

We were soooooo happy at the end of the evening! We thoroughly enjoyed the two piece band and the Marie King was the flute player - she was fabulous!! There were two Irish dancers as well and they were amazing as well - I believe one of them was Gerhard Hayes!

“Perfect Irish Experience! Great food, Great service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Kilkenny was our first stop in Ireland, and Lanigan's was the best way to be "introduced" to the Irish culture! It's a very large restaurant, with a cozy pub feel in front and a large, multiple room, seating area in back.

The food was fabulous... we ordered the Irish stew which melted in your mouth. Of course, we also had a couple Guinness' which were wonderful.

Service was quick, responsive and very friendly. We wish we could have spent even more time at Lanigan's.

Great pub, incredible band (the Kilkenny's), rollicking good time!

Looks to be popular with locals and tourists alike.

Really made our trip!
