“Molassy Cottage was a home away from home.”

I can not say enough great things, not only about Molassy Cottage but about Breda Morris. The cottage was exceptionally clean, and she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, going so far as to give us directions, maps, and information on great places to visit. Breda even went so far as to give me a lift from Kilkenny to the cottage, and taking me to some great churches while in Kilkenny. We were treated as VIP guest not just renters. If you are ever thinking of going to Ireland this is a great place to stay, it is well located and the people are fabulous. I didn't just get to see Ireland I made some new friends and can't wait to see them again.

“Perfect Secret Weekend Away”

We stayed at Molassy Cottage for a long girls weekend as a gift to our friend. It was absoloutely perfect. There were only 3 of us but it would have been comfortable for double the amount of people. It was just what we wanted- a quaint cottage but with all the mod cons we need these days.
Breda the owner couldn't be more helpful, she gave us all of the advice we could need, perfect directions to find the hideaway and provided us with complimentary tea, coffee, bread etc to make our stay lovely. Couldn't recommend enough.

“Molassy Cottage made us rediscover the meaning of relaxation and peace.”

Wow, how pleased we were when we showed up at the lovely secluded Molassy Cottage (which we found easily following Breda's directions), and found it ready and clean for our arrival. Me, my partner and our dog Pancha needed a break from busy city life, and boy did we find it! Breda supplied very good directions to the cottage, and even phoned a few days in advance to see if there was anything we required in the cottage specifically. Very warm and friendly.

The cottage is well equipped and very cosy, and we were wanting for nothing during our stay. The rear garden is big, and anyone with a dog will really appreciate this. In addition to that, the walk down the bank of the nearby river is also perfect for someone with a dog, and the tranquility and lovely scenery make any walk outside a pleasure.

Even though we don't have children, we could also see that the cottage is VERY well equipped for kids with board games, books, DVD's, and even a stroller under the stairs. I myself preferred the chess set in front of the cosy fire at night when it became very Irish weather-wise.

We will definitely go back for a bit longer next time. Highly recommended to anyone.

“Molassy can be heaven in the summer time”

I am somewhat hesitant to write this review as the selfish part of me would like to keep this gem hidden for return visits. Molassy Cottage is tranquility embodied in a lovely part of county Kilkenny. Myself my wife and young son had travelled to Ireland from Japan and couldn't ask for a more beautiful and relaxed spot to unravel the miles from our jet lagged bodies. The old barns with the swallows flitting in and out; the owl that screeched a greeting to us each evening at dusk; the curious cows in the lower field; and the quicksilver fish in the small river beyond. All of this and the warm friendliness of Breda who made sure everything was alright, including the biscuits. The ultimate accolade though, came from my 6 year old son who simply said, "I want to live here". If only we could.

Lovely spotless clean cottage. Everything you would want for a comfortable stay.If you like the idea of a country getaway this is the place for you. Still close enough to visit the local sights. Breda is a fantastic host, arranged for a Doctor's visit. Checked each night to see if things had improved. Even followed up with a call after we left. Her kindness was very much appreciated.

“Excellent Stay in the Country”

What a wonderful quaint cottage in the country to stay in. Close enough to Kilkenny to explore the town. It was a pity we could'nt spend more time at the cottage & its surrounds, it is such a perfect setting & Callan is definitely worth a visit on your doorstep. Very friendly owner who provided some great treats when we arrived, such a pleasure after a long flight to just be able to relax for a bit & not have to go straight into town to buy supplies. People like this do their country proud. Will definitey be back if I'm in Ireland again. Thank you so much for everything.
