I just had tea here but the staff were fantastic. Abusy spot at lunch time but no pressure on me to vacate the table. I saw the manageress go out in the rain because a patron asked for a newspaper. Well done, folks, keep up the work.

“Hidden Treasure!”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We came to Kilkenny to see the castle... we left so pleased by this diamond in the rough. My girlfriend wanted a Chai so we were looking for a coffee place and noticed - COFFEE from the outside and decided to duck in and grab a drink. We noticed the menu and on a whim decided to stay and eat (so glad we did). My girlfriend is vegetarian so finding such an eclectic menu was unexpected. Everything was fresh and tasty! Both our meals were fantastic the service was great and we just loved the vibe of this place. It's much larger than it looks from the outside going up 2 additional levels. If you go for the Castle... don't miss "The Fig Tree". It's going on our list of favorites!

“Yum!”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

We stopped in here by chance for a coffee, with the idea of searching for a restaurant after. However, when we saw they did food we decided to ask for a menu as the food people were eating around us looked delicious!
I ordered the chicken caeser salad, which was very nice. Sauce was great, salad leaves were fresh and they were generous with the parmesan cheese, bacon and croutons. Chicken was very moist, my only complaint being that i wished the chicken would have been warm. It did not state 'warm' chicken caeser salad on the menu, so i ate it and enjoyed it very much anyway. However my boyfriends lamb burger was out of this world delicious! Moist, full of flavour and perfectly balanced. If we ever go back.... i know what im ordering!
Their cakes looked delicious, and i took away a cheeky (and very large) piece of rock road, which i thoroughly enjoyed eating back at my hotel later on that evening :) would recommend!
