We're American expats that live in Spain. Since we're living in Europe, we've had the opportunity to travel a lot over the continent. We always find little quirks that don't exist in the States (bidets, separate faucets for hot & cold, small showers, 2 tiny beds squished together and called a "double/queen"). Well here, you have a hotel with high standards suitable for an international crowd. They actually had outlets built into the wall for UK/Ireland, Europe, and US/Australia - they are all 3 different, so this was great for us with our mix of Spanish and American electronics. They had really nice linens and two pillows for every person - a must four our household. The room was spacious enough that even with the baby cot (that they provided) we still had plenty of room to relax. The TV had lots of channels, and the bathroom amenities were very nice.
Breakfast was not as good as the rest of the hotel. I give the hotel a 5 star review, breakfast only a 3.5 star. They RUINED the oatmeal/Irish porridge. It was a gelatinous lump in a bowl. How sad after a week of good breakfasts. They claimed a "hot buffet" but really you had to order it from the menu. They also screwed up a hard-boiled egg - the egg was stuck to the shell in most parts so that when you finish peeling you get only a fraction of the egg. The pastries seemed dried-out, like a day old. None of the other hotels/B&Bs we stayed with had these problems - all the food elsewhere was spot on. Maybe they got a new chef/cook when we arrived? But the good news is that the cold items were all nicely displayed and there was a great jam and bread selection. And the hotel was so nice that the less than perfect breakfast did not detract from our stay. We would stay again, no doubt!

Friendly staff, excellent location. Food was good, we stayed as part of a deal for one night with a meal which was excellent value for money. Nice modern hotel with really useful parking. Rooms were clean and well decorated.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The location was absolutely perfect for walking around this charming city. The rooms were huge and very comfortable. The staff was really helpful. They called around different restaurants to find out when the music would be playing. I would be lucky to stay here again.

This hotel was amazing!!! The hotel is ideally located right in the heart of Kilkenny, everything is within walking distance. Kilkenny castle is just round the corner and plenty of bars and restaurants are on your doorstep.
The rooms are modern and spacious! There is plenty of room to move around and a lot of space for girls getting ready to hit the town hard. Dressing gowns and slippers are also provided in the room. The TV is large with a good choice of channels. Despite the location the room was lovely a quiet so we had a great nights sleep. The air-conditioning also meant that we could easily control the room temperature!
The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly, they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. My friend and I received a noise complaint from ou neighbours for playing music at 9pm, the staff warned us to be careful which meant we didn't have to pay an extra charge!
Breakfast is served until 10:30, we didn't make it but from what i hear the food is delicious! I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are probably quieter as they overlook the carpark!! all the rooms are...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here recently and were really impressed with the hotel. The room was quite large and comfortable and we had a view of the castle. The decor was nice and the room was extremely clean. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but had breakfast to the room next morning and we were very happy with everything we ordered. The menu offered plenty of choice and everything was hot and fresh when it arrived. The staff in the hotel, particularly the reception staff, were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a great location from which to explore Kilkenny - it is close to plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and to some of the sights.

We spent one night at this lovely hotel during our 2wk trip of Ireland. It was one of the best! Clean, spacious, new and wonderfully located. Parking is a little tight, but fine. Highly recommended for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good too.
