Stayed in the hotel for one night only it was a Saturday night. Hotel was about a 20+ min walk to the city centre. We had a room with a balcony to the front of the hotel but the view left alot to be desired & we couldn't open the door to get out onto the balcony. The room was nice & clean & the beds were quite comfortable but we found the room to be very warm & had to leave the window open into the night. I had to get up though to close it into the early hours of the morning due to the noise from other guests who were utilizing their balcony. We ate in the bar that evening & had breakfast at the hotel the following morning & I have to say both times I was not very impressed with the food. I have stayed in a number of Maldron Hotels through out the country & have to say I was really disappointed with this one!

This hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the city centre and under 10 Euro taxi ride. Very friendly and professional staff. Has a bar which serves food, we had toasted sandwiches at lunchtime and tea which was reasonably priced. We were concerned prior to our stay as some guests had complained about a lot of noise. We requested a quiet room and we were very happy with our stay. Would stay again if in the area.

We stayed for 3 nights. No big complaints, but nothing to rave about either. The facilities are good, including a decent swimming pool and the staff were generally fine, apart from a quite rude girl with dark hair in the leisure centre.
The rooms were smallish but the beds were comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking a back courtyard and it was very quiet. I would recommend asking for a room at the back as the front of the hotel seemed a little shady. The hotel did not seem very child friendly and i would say it caters more for business and stags than families.
On the day we left, all the lifts were broken. This can happen, although one had already broken the day previously and maybe would have been an idea to get someone out quickly so at least one would be working. We had to carry our bags from the top floor and the receptionist didn't even comment on it when we were checking out.
There is an aldi supermarket just round the corner and a big off licence and this was handy for breakfast as it wasn't
included in our deal, and we also had a glass of wine in the room instead of the bar.
Very handy to drive into town or to drive to bunratty/galway but would not recommend walking locally as it is not in a particularly safe area

I stayed at the Maldron Hotel in July and was a return visitor in August 2014. I read the reviews and thought some of them were a bit harsh, however I soon learnt my lesson. On my first stay, I was greeted by a lovely receptionist and the room was lovely and clean. Unfortunately the second time round I was met with a very different experience. Once again I cannot fault the receptionist a lovely welcome and very friendly girl. The room I was given was a different story (see photos), it was dirty, stains on the walls, lamp shade, carpet and cigarette butts on the balcony. The view from the room wasn't exactly charming either, a dirty yard with litter blowing around the place. The bed had seen better days, with a lumpy mattress and was visible very tired looking after inspecting under the sheets. However the worst thing about the room was the smell, it smelt like there was an open sewer in the en suite so we kept the door closed which solved the problem. The tiles were creaking in the en suite so I can only assume that water from the shower (or the toilet - hopefully not) had got in under the floor which caused the stench. We ate in the bar after having a nice meal on our first visit but we were let down with this on our second stay too. The staff did not attend to us when we arrived and we ended up having to get our own menus from the bar and order from the bar, whereas other customers were waited on. There was a young girl who seemed to be doing most of the work where as two male servers seemed to be doing as little as possible. I will not be staying at the Maldron again and suggest you only stay if you can't afford to stay any where else!

Room Tip: Don't stay in Room 216...

We stayed there last weekend, 2 adults and 2 kids. It was a last minute booking the night before stay. €105 to include breakfast and free underground parking. Room was spacious, WiFi and plenty of towels provided for all for of us. Kids went down for a swim next morning which was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful. Buffet with plenty to chose from and staff were lovely. All in all it was great value for money and would recommend no problem.

A two night stay at Limerick,
This hotel is situated outside the city, one has to take a 7 Euro taxi to reach the center of city.
There are good no of eating places in and around the hotel.
The room size and toilet size is good.
In summer, when the temp is high, it feels hot, but you can open the door of balcony. No air conditioning in the room.
When it gets cold in the early morning, there is a heater in the room which is preset only to start at 5 am.
Food is good in the hotel.

Room Tip: No A/C in the hotel, the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms have balconies, you can open the door

I'm not negative on Maldrons! This Maldron hotel is like most that I have seen, They are outside the towns. You probably need transport to get into Limerick city. The big downer is it is opposite a halting site so there is NO view to speak of. So long as you are aware of this and you know what you are booking, then this Limerick Maldron serves it's purpose fine. Pool area was good and everywhere was clean. The girl working the bar the night we had a drink there was NOT happy but having said that, in general the staff were fine. Breakfasts were good, Again, no real complaints, you just wouldn't really be WALKING anywhere from here but a good enough base and very reasonable at €40pppn sharing

Room Tip: Possibly not the ground floor....buses parking outside window, views of halting site, etc.
