“Relaxing weekend”
Reviewed 18 April 2011

Just back from a glorious weekend in 1 Pery Square. Travelling with four other girls we enjoyed the wonderful spa with relaxing therapy rooms and excellent staff. We dined in the restaurant on Saturday night and while it was busy the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. All in all the staff could not have been more helpful. We will definitely be back!

A rarity for a person living in a city to get to stay a night in a local hotel but recently I stayed a night in Number 1 Pery Square.

I was staying to celebrate my own civil union so booked the Vanderkist suite overlooking the peoples park. The room was stunning with period features all in tact including two feature sliding sash windows. To enter a bathroom larger than the average kitchen you know you are in somewhere special with freestanding roll top bath and huge shower.

A group of us had dinner and sampled the full range of the menu in Brasserie One the hotels restaurant. From the Pork Belly and Scallops to the Beef Bourguignon, the food was delicious and portions perfectly sized. Desserts were sweet and light. Alan the head chef puts thought and feeling into the food and this is easily recognised.

No 1 has a fantastic wine list and wine shop and the range of wines will fit any taste style or budget.

Staff in the hotel are knowledgeable courteous and welcoming to find all three in a hotel is rare.

A pleasure to eat and stay here it just makes me wish I lived outside Limerick so I could stay more.

Even if you can only visit for a meal and a drink nothing beats a wine in the bar watching the world go by

The hotel comprises of two beautifully and sympathetically converted Georgian townhouses. The décor is a lovely modern spin on the tastes of the 18th century. The hotel is located in the Georgian area of Limerick City. I am ashamed to say that I had underrated Limerick City until my stay at Pery Square for the Kate O’Brien weekend convinced me otherwise. The beds in the hotel are the best I have slept on and the breakfast offered a range of options that would take an enjoyable week to munch through. A relaxed Sunday afternoon in the bar watching rugby in the care of the very friendly staff and eating a tasty brunch rounded off an almost perfect stay.

My now fiancé brought me to this beautiful hotel for the weekend and proposed! The staff went above and beyond to cater for our every need, our suite was classic and elegant with views over the park, and still a stroll away from the hustle and bustle of Limerick city. The restaurant, food and service were amazing. As for the breakfast - it is second to none!! Eggs Benedict are a must! To sum up this hotel, it is a chic home away from home, all made possible by fantastic staff.

Recently, stayed at no1 perry square and was an amazing experience. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms were of a wonderful standard. The food was amazing, offering a wonderful choice for breakfast and dinner was exceptional.. Could not find fault with anything! The spa and thermal suite was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. The situation of the hotel is ideal, close to city centre but at the same time not in the hustle and bustle. Feels like your in a different country for the weekend! would love to return..
