“very nice lodge - excellent location”
Reviewed 22 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had a wonderful week, taking turns resting at the lodge on the hill and visiting some of the wonderful sites in southern Ireland.
We greatly recommend Glenview Lodge as the perfect place, both for the quiet and lovely surroundings and for the very good central location for visiting.
The lodge itself is very cosy and comfortable, well equipped and Monica and Sean are great hosts.
Highly recommended ...

“Perfect location, excellent home.”
Reviewed 5 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

This is a wonderful home on a 30 acre farm. Everything about our stay was perfect, Sean and Monica have pride in this home and it shows. Not once did a I hear "I'm bored" from our 12 and 13 YO daughters. There was plenty of exploring the property and a ping pong table to entertain them. The home was spotless, plenty of fresh towels, washer/dryer, and kitchen. The peat burning stove in the living room was a hit for the kids and warmed the home during the evening.
The views were awesome, a short walk down the driveway provided views of the mountains surrounding the property.
In nearby Broadford there was 4 pubs to choose from and a small grocery store. About 6km away there was a larger grocery that provided all the food we needed.
The home and surrounding area are very quiet, there is a bench just outside the home and it provided a place to sit and take in the scenery.
I highly recommend Glenview Lodge to anyone who wants to get away from the tourist areas and really enjoy Ireland.

“stay here you won't regret it!”
Reviewed 2 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

My husband, parents, and I had a fantastic one week stay at Glenview Lodge. Sean and Monica were delightful and always willing to help out, telling us local sights of interest, day trips, and hiking trails. The cottage itself is lovely, historical, and cozy with a modern kitchen. The property is situated on a hill surrounded by trees and beautiful views. We felt like we were able to experience true Ireland away from the touristy places. We definitely recommend the Irish experience package. We enjoyed the historical talk, the soda bread, chocolates, Irish coffee, stew, and breakfast. We can't recommend Glenview Lodge enough!

“Wonderful Location!”
Reviewed 23 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed a Glenview Lodge for four days in June 2013 and Sean and Monica made us feel very welcome when we arrived. Glenview Lodge is a hidden gem nestled in 30 acres of the most beautiful Limerick countryside and it is so peaceful and private, it really is an escape to the countryside!
Glenview Lodge is cosy, clean and comfortable and every detail has been thought about carefully. For a self-catering accommodation everything you need is included. The beds were made up for our arrival and we had plenty of clean towels to use too. There is one en-suite bathroom and another family bathroom upstairs together with a separate toilet downstairs, all of which were very modern and clean. The country style kitchen is both clean and spacious. We loved all the authentic furniture, photographs and the interesting historical details about local people and places displayed throughout the Lodge.
We had the Breakfast pack which was convenient and great for our stay. Also, on one evening Monica made us a fantastic Irish Stew together with some traditional soda bread which was delicious too!
Glenview Lodge is ideally located for touring in both County Limerick and County Kerry.
I would definitely recommend Glenview Lodge and we would love to come back again and stay longer next time!

“A magnificent self-catering Home, Great location to base and tour”
Reviewed 24 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Sean and Monica greeted us and Sean took us up to the property. This magnificent property sits alone on 30+ Acre site that is extremely private. You have this historic farm to yourselves. The views from the hillside show the wide vista of the rolling hills of the Irish countryside. We came in after dark but the view on awakening to a sunny blue sky day peering out on the luscious greet of the rolling hills was breath taking.

“Very friendly welcome to a well-kept, clean historical house”

We went to Ireland first time, and rented Glenview for a week before going down to South Kerry for another. We used Glenview as a base for sightseeing trips, mostly to the north: Galway (well, race week might be different...), Cliffs of Moher and the Burren less than 2hrs, <1hr to Lough Gur, 1hr to Cork.
Sean and Monica were extremely helpful: apart from an extensive collection of what-to-do information sheets from lots of attractions in the surroundings, we also received infos for current activities and events, ranging from "seisun" to Irish Football (which is definitely worth having a look at). Though always helpful, they made their presence only when announced and previously agreed upon, which made us feel comfortable.
The house is restored using old furniture, which gives it an authentic touch, yet it is well equipped with all amenities. The turf fire burning in the living room in the evenings created a relaxed atmosphere and kept us warm and cosy. And I must truly admit that I never slept that well from the first to the last night in any accomodation I've ever stayed in.
Especially for newbies to Ireland, I definitely recommend Sean and Monicas "Experience Ireland package" - the Irish coffee alone is worth everything, and then we did not yet mention the Irish Stew...
All in all, if travelling again to the same place, I would definitely return to Glenview Lodge.

We rented this house for a central spot to go see western and southern Ireland and it worked out great. The house setting on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley. Most days we traveled about an hour to our destinations. The ring of kerry was an all day event but well worth the drive. Sean and Monica were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome yet we did not see them until prearranged times which was good. We made a fire every night and would not have changed anything about our vacation week in Ireland.
