“great happy place”
Reviewed 16 May 2012

this was the best hotel i was in yet, it was very reasonably priced, the bedroom was gorgeous the staff were funny and friendly especially Carolyn thank you. The hotel was in walking distance of all the night life (which was great for a group of girls in heels). i was very very happy with this hotel and will most defiantly book there again.

Room Tip: If you are going on a stag or hen or just a group i would get the quad room it was very spacious and...

I had to stay at the hotel, because I missed the last bus connection to Killarney so this was an unexpected overnight hotel break.
The hotel is just 5 minutes away from the bus/train station and even though Limerick is deemed to be a bit on the rough side, there was no problem walking to the hotel on my own at 11pm at night.
I walked in without a reservation and was greeted by a super receptionist/bar manager. She made me feel very welcome, and was super prompt in allocating a room and helping me to my room.
The room rate was really good (€50 or so for a single with breakfast); I was allocated a double room with ensuite facilities. The room was on the 3rd floor, spacious and equipped with all one would expect: tea/coffee making facilities, TV (not the flat screen TV one would find in newer hotels, but it did not matter since it had a good few channels, which is really all that one need), and phone.
I had breakfast the morning after, it was fine, nothing extravagant but it was alright.
The reason I marked this hotel average is because my room could have done with a lick of paint (the walls were a bit dirty), and I guess it is not as fancy as the newer hotels, but in fairness, the hotel is fine, the food in the bar is good and the staff is really lovely.

We stayed here for one night recently for a rugby match. We have stayed before but reading the recent reviews were a little worried things had gone downhill. Not at all, still a great hotel to stay in for Limerick. We had a nice, clean spacious room on the first floor with a comfy bed. Breakfast the next morning was a decent buffet. And as before the staff are very friendly. Will stay here again.

Stayed here for 12 nights whilst working in the area, hopefully never again. Not too bothered about facilities when working away, just that the hotel is clean and has a comfortable bed. Pery's didn't tick either box. The only good point about this hotel is the majority of the staff are very amicable. The hotel, (past the lobby) is in a poor state of repair, it is very dated and the combined smell of damp and vomit on the second floor is very overpowering, the mattress was awful and towels and bedding are well past their best! I doubt that my room was vacuumed during my stay, as I noticed items on the floor on arrival, still there when I departed. Bathroom had a noticable smell of damp, doubtful that window had been cleaned recently as there was alot of brown/black residue around the window seal. The hair in the plug hole was the finishing touch. The room aside, the hotel is frequented like a local pub by elderly people and effectively turns into a pensioners' night club on a Friday and Saturday, with a doorman, say no more. The breakfast is okay if it comes from a packet, the cooked food is left in bain marie steamer, ever had soggy hash browns and sausage? Also if you do stay check for a slice of bacon under the bain marie table, a chef dropped it there when topping up, still there a week later, honestly. The food is very ordinary and is similarly priced as local restaurants, which are far superior. I would agree with previous comments on this hotel, this was the only place I could get in, (alarm bells) looking at some of the dates of prevous reviews it is clear nothing gets done quickly, if at all. If you are going to Limerick check if Munster are playing at home and book somewhere else well in advance. Last point, very convienent for prostitutes if you like that sort of thing.

Room Tip: Find another hotel would be a fair statement.

Average hotel, confortable and with a great location. Not far from shops and the river where there is a lovely walk along to go to Limerick old castle. Staff was very helpful in telling us what to see in Limerick.

we stayed one night in a family room which was big. A little dated but sufficient.

Safe parking for cars for free.

Staff was really friendly and helpful, room was spacious and have no complaints. Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. TV worked fine, Bed was comfortable, room was quiet. Was lucky to get parking in the free parking lot, it was very busy and it's a bit tricky parking otherwise. Breakfast was lovely. Ordered a sandwich at 2am, which came promptly. Overall, as good as expected. Would stay again.
