“Really Terrible”
Reviewed 8 May 2011

This is absolute not a good hotel. The swimmingpool for childs are open untill 18:00, so after that time no child allowd. Also the room is not from this time, they need to repair a couple of things. The floor in the room is dirty and the beds are really bad. Service of the staff is not good en breakfast was not included, you need to pay 10 euro p.p. its 20 minutes from the City Limerick and laying at a busy road.

My friend and her three children invited me and my niece along for a two day break..... the staff were exceptionally friendly and had a great way with the 4 little people. The local accent was truly appreciated. We all enjoyed ourselves so much that there was a loud cheer from the kiddies and the adults alike when it was decided to stay another night. The pool, the tasty food....all thumbs up. Perfect location to the nearby Thomand Park and Bunratty Folk Park and Village.

Everyone from the receptionists, through the bar and restaurant staff, to the leisure centre staff were the most helpful and cheerful group of hotel staff I have ever met. They create a very happy atmosphere in their hotel and we all, including 4 children had a fabulous break here. The family rooms were perfect for our needs, the kids loved the pool(especially as it was not too crowded during our stay). The bar food was tasty and nicely presented and the waitresses were excellent.
Only small negative comment is the lack of a lift to the family rooms - lots of corridors and stairs to be climbed.
The hotel is situated perfectly for anyone heading to Thomond Park - literally turn left at the lights and it is straight ahead, less than 2 minutes by car. It is also great as regards heading to Bunratty Castle and folk park - 5-6 minutes staright out the Ennis Rd.

Room Tip: Next to Thomond Park adn easy access to Bunratty.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for two nights in one of their standard rooms. The room was very clean, clean and fresh bed linen, spacious rooms with flat sceen TV and about 12 channels including two radio chanels. The wardrobe space was quite small for two people. Friendly and pleasant staff.
Overall, good value for money. If your the health and fitness type, there is a spa/leisure centre within the hotel grounds.
Free parking.

My husband and I were put up at this hotel recently due to the airline troubles in London at the end of December 2010 along with hundreds of people from the plane. The staff and management worked amazingly well when we arrived at around midnight to get us checked in quickly and dinner ready for us by 1am. The food was great, hotel staff very friendly and helpful and the manager was very hardworking and made sure we were taken care of. Although this was an "unscheduled" visit for us, the friendliness of the staff and the great food made the few days we stayed here the best part of our attempt to get to London. Highly recommended.

My (now) husband and I held our wedding reception at the Greenhills and we had a fantastic day. The layout of the hotel was beautiful, the food amazing and the staff wonderful - nothing was too much trouble, down to amusing my 2 year old nephew at the top table and organizing a last minute babysitter so his mom could enjoy a good ole knees up. The location of the hotel was perfect as we had a lot of guests travelling from different European countries and it was easy to find, without having to go through the city centre. All of these European tastes were also accommodated - everybody really enjoyed their stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, both business and pleasure!

We recently travelled to Limerick to stay for 3 nights in the Greenhills Hotel. My sister is confined to a wheelchair and I requested a room with a wheelchair accessible bathroom with grab rails. I was assured tha this would be provided. When we arrived we discovered that while you could get a wheelchair into the bathroom the washbasin was so big that we couldnt get the wheelchair aligned with the toilet which is essential for sliding across. The toilet was a regular toilet ie not raised as it should be and there was only one grab rail making it impossible for my sister to raise herself to get her clothes down or to get back on the wheelchair. We ended up leaving the next morning as we couldn't tolerate the difficulty. While the hotel was understanding they couldn't offer anything better and still charged us full ratefor the night we stayed. People with disabilites need the same accessibility in the bedroom as are in the public disabled toilets. Not this tokenism. It was very disappointing
