This old hotel is very well run with friendly and efficient staff. It is very traditional with a bar and restaurant which are obviously popular with non residents. Its proximity to the railway and bus station make it a very convenient place to stay. My room was clean and nice with quite a big bathroom. It had TV and tea and coffee making facility. The breakfast was good and overall I thought it excelent value.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are nice and bright but there is some noise from traffic, etc.

Stayed in The Railway Hotel last night, found it most delightful. The staff and locals were more then generous. Had a lovely stay, don't understand why ignorant people feel the need to complain because of their whiskey problems, its not the end of the world.

The staff of the Railway Hotel were extremely helpful, and very friendly. My friends and I had just arrived in Limerick for St. Patrick's Day. The staff was patient as they answered our questions, and accommodating with our needs. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was delicious!!

Very conveniently located to the bus and train station. This hotel is no frills, but at hostels prices it was a relief to finally stay somewhere with towels and TV. If passing by Limerick I would recommend this for a night. The breakfast was good, and the staff are very friendly.

Located across the road from the main (only) Bus & Train Station in Limerick City, this establishment provides good shelter from rain and soft seating for a traveller waiting for a bus or train. My visit was mid afternoon and odours indicated that the lunch trade was finishing up. A typically slack hour, it was hard to make a firm judgement on the atmosphere and clientèle, however my instinct would be to avoid it except when stuck. Bar ventilation should be upgraded and the place generally meeds to be spruced up - new carpets etc.

Staff were friendly and good local accents were clearly audible. They did not stock the most popular/ poured Irish gin - only poor quality British gin.

I read trip advisor before I came down and knew what I was walking into. Most of the negatives are true there is a smell in the hallways, the decor is outdated, the walls are very thin and the bar customers made it known it was closed at four in the morning.

That would be a bad review but the positives balance this stay.it was a stag week-end so myself and a mate booked the train from Dublin and this hotel for the Saturday night before the Munster v ulster quarter final.the price per person was €30 board. The other lads were paying at least €65 board.the location is ideal across from the railway and literally a five minute walk to Henry street.the room was clean, with plenty of hot water.

Walking into this with my eyes open I was very happy with the service and standard.the area near the hotel would be the homestead of the dundons so be careful but since we were literally in the hotel just for sleeping and it's proximity to the station.I had a very happy, safe stay. there is a taxi rank around the corner but we were able to walk everywhere on foot.where price is a key factor this hotel is a winner the trip on the trian and the acommadation cost €52.

This was the highest rating I would give this hotel because of it's lack of facilities ect but infairness with prices like this the advantages outway the negatives especially when compared to similarly priced options.
