“Sounds good but not that great to stay there - just average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2012

Stayed in May 2012 and I used to stay here when it was part of the Lynch Group of hotels and I had booked an overnight on a business trip and all seemed okay but it was not okay and not even average really. They offered a bb plus a dinner at a good price but what I got was actually was pub grub in the bar as the restaurant was closed for renovation which the lady whom I booked it with forgot to mention? The bedroom was cold and there was a notice to ring down to get them to switch on the air conditioning for heat. The gentleman at Reception really did his best and said that he would increase the temp gradually. However, the room never really heated up at all. The decor in the room was lovely and it was clean and well presented. They need to get their act together as theres far too many hotels in Limerick to play below par.

We recently visited Ireland and one of our party was forced to enter hospital in Limerick for an appendix operation. The hospital suggested for us to stay at the South Court. We stayed there for 4 days and were very happy with our stay there. The front desk staff, in fact everyone we met at the hotel were very very kind, efficient and wonderful to deal with. I really recommend this hotel for any length of staff. Thanks guys for a great stay under difficult circumstances. Bill Arnold

Room Tip: Just check in and ask at the front desk.

Had a great stay at the hotel and very pleasant and helpful staff. Free upgrade to executive room as deal was on Hotels.com. Room first class food first class although food service in bar was slow at a very quiet time. Only one major crib, Gym was first class but the sauna was out of commission and the steam room was being used as a cleaners cupboard.

spent time there recently on a business trip lovely large bedroom marred by antiquated tv and zapper wrapped in sellotape and barely functioning breakfast is entirely self serve and was very average the few staff that were engaged on duties seemed stretched bar snacks were better than expected and this was helped by an enthusiastic waiter overall good on bedroom size and cleanliness but seems to fall disappointingly short on the whole experience and maybe new owners will be able to address this

we stayed one night in march 2 adults and 2 kids in a family room
room was as expected and met expectations - bathroom a little small but functional nonetheless

staff were friendly especially receptionist who was helpful with our kids

we had casual dining in the bar which was satisfactory with sevrice a bit slow because the place was busy - value for money was good though
breakfast in the morning was buffet and was satisfactory

car parking is free and ample and beside the hotel
overall satisfied with the stay

My daughter and I stayed here while attending a feis at the hotel. The beds and room were clean and comfortable and there was ample, free parking. We ate in the bar/restaurant and the food was very good, although, service was a bit slow. Would stay again, no problem.

Good points: spotless room. Mostly friendly staff. Location close to hospital, Raheen Industrial Estate, and the Motorway exit. Great parking which is free. Decent buffet breakfast. Really low price, €59 for B&B.
Disappointed with my meal in the Boru Bar (no dining room). It was served after an inordinate wait. It was luke-warm, and it was undercooked. I was so tired and hungry I still ate it. The barman who served it had poor people skills, never making eye contact with me, and never asked me what my meal was like.
Also disappointed with the internet signal which kept failing.
But I will probably stay again as the good points above win the day. How easy it would be to get these small problems fixed though!
