“Perfect right now.”
Reviewed 22 June 2012

I visited the LCGA just a couple of days ago and found the space really intriguing. The current exhibition is part of the EVA International Visual Arts Biennial and it has transformed the space, capitalising on the recent renovations to bring a sense of re-invigoration to the exhibition space. A striking transformation has occurred where the permanent collection had been housed with the installation of suspended scultural pieces relating to freshly painted dynamic shapes on the walls, Eva is on until August 12th so I'm excited to see what comes next! The cafe is pretty darn good too, a nice selection of salads and light lunches with teas, coffees and seductive sweet treats. I could easily spend the day here and with the beautiful People's Park on the doorstep it's the perfect way to spend a Summer's Day.

“Better than Eva”
Reviewed 11 April 2012

If you're in Limerick for eva, you should also make time to see what's hanging in the LCGA. We particularly enjoy the fully immersive video installations when they're showing.

“Nice way to spend an hour or two”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

After having walked the majority of the day through the city we found ourselves at the People's Park where we were to catch our bus home, albeit several hours early, so we decided to check out the art gallery and the cafe. The cafe is cosy and has some nice selections of snacks and sandwiches.

The art gallery and library was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie. The exhibition we saw was about exploring the gallery's permanent collections and had some fascinating and diverse pieces of art. It was very engaging. My only complaint would be that there is no seating for the public in the gallery spaces. This is a real problem for disabled people who can only walk or stand for limited periods of time. Otherwise I would recommend spending the time it takes to tour this lovely museum space.

“A Beautiful old City, extremely welcoming”
Reviewed 4 November 2011

We received an unbelievable welcome, first of all we called into a public house, because we were lost. They gave us a drink while they described our route. Overall that trip could not be faulted, every public house is the same, warm and friendly, right down to their lovely Irish Stew
