“Wonderful A+ Limerick Pub”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

This past Tuesday night we arrived in Limerick and we were looking for a place to dine, have a few pints and hopefully catch some live music. After reading lots of reviews, we choose Dolans and we were not disappointed. When we walked in the place was almost empty, except for one table which was right in front of the fireplace. The locals sitting there immediately asked us if we would like for them to move so that we could sit in front of the fire. The bartender was so kind, with a great sense of humor! (I believe he is the nephew of Mr. Dolan) Service as great and we ended up staying for 5 hours visiting, singing, and making new friends. The food is WAY above average for pub food. Everything we ordered was incredibly flavorful. We love it so much that we returned the following night for another amazing dinner and evening! The Dolan's are very hospitable!

“Cozy pub, great music”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

We walked down to Dolan's on Saturday night and had an enjoyable time at the bar with a few pints. We ate dinner and found it (as every other place we ate in Ireland) to be excellent food. We took in a very interesting musical act upstairs in an intimate listening venue and checked out the trad session going on downstairs before we walked back to our hotel. Dolans is located pretty far out of the way from the city center, but it felt perfectly safe to walk down there at night. We questioned if it was even open, but were pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and cozy it was. Friendly staff. Recommended.

“Pre gig, David mcsavage”
Reviewed 22 September 2013 via mobile

Went to the show last night 20/9/2013, we arrived at around 6:30 atmosphere was great, only part of a downturn was that we asked bar staff would we have enough time before gig starts at 7:30 to have something to eat, the was fair he said maybe not or be very tight call so close to the start, so we only had a chowder and chips, which was great, but the gig doors didn't open till around 8pm, as we waited we saw that the place wasn't setup and most of the online tickets information, they didn't have, so it was another wait time to get in, for a place that regularly does gigs, very disappointing and very unorganised, and way to many staff on everybody was running around like a headless chicken, will be back for the food, but for a gig possibly not, unless a very good gig, and no other place having the gig on !

“One sentence? Order the Irish stew!”
Reviewed 16 August 2013 via mobile

We were looking for a late night meal. Attempted to go to The Curragower Seafood Bar because it was a short walk from our hotel but they stopped serving food at 8pm. We headed to Dolan's pub. They serve until ten and had live, traditional Irish music. What a treat all around for us. The service was a bit slow but our wait person was also bar tending and we weren't in a rush so we sat and enjoyed the great atmosphere and food! There was a designated waitress waiting other tables and she seemed to be getting the food and drinks out quickly. Anyway, we ordered Fish and chips and Irish stew. I've never had Irish stew before and it was delicious! It arrived with a dollop or two or three of mashed potatoes in the middle of it which added to the dish! Very very tasty. Will definitely visit Dolan's again on my next visit to Limerick. We ordered dessert as well-apple and wild berry crumble as well as fudge cake. Fudge cake was very sweet but it came with a little ramekin if cream which cut the sweetness down. I would definitely recommend the crumble. It was perfect!! Enjoy!!
