I was down in Limerick just before Christmas and had a bit of a car disaster. We broke down near the stadium and the Strand was nearest hotel to book into. Have to say it was a stroke of luck. Room was immaculate and very reasonably priced and the hotel Manager Gary was extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be booking in again.

Room Tip: We had the whichever was the cheapest room and it was perfect!

Myself and 5 friends plus a half!! recently went to the Strand for Sunday morning breakfast, as one of the girls had heard great things about the breakfast. The food itself is excellent, with the usual buffet style of everything imaginable, however they also had a chef on hand who would poach an egg fresh in front of your eyes or make an omlette, which was the option I took, it was as Darina Allen might say 'simply delicious'!!!

As girls often do we stayed chatting, as we didnt realsie the time the satff needed to clear the room for lunch, we were then escorted out to the dining area where we were refreshed with teas, coffess, water etc, it was the only the food that made this experienec enjoyable, but the fantastic manner of each and may I emphasis each staff member on this particular morning that has made me do my first review!! Thanks to the Strand ill definitley be returning!!

Stayed in an executive room on the January sale offered through their website. On arrival, the girl at checkout did not know about the deal and the late check out the following morning which was included, she also never told us what the breakfast times were the following morning, and did not know what add ons were included in the offer when I asked her about dinner in the hotel. Had food in the bar which was lovely but we got charged for an extra drink that we did not have, we did not complain about it as we weren't in the mood for the hassle.
I thought the hotel room was nice but could be nicer, there was what i would assume were bleach stains on the carpet outside the bathroom. The shower doors were broken and really hard to close.
However, the executive loung was nice, the gym was perfect and open early and the breakfast choice was brilliant, got pancakes made fresh.

No complaints at all here. Loved our room. It was nicely furnished, modern, clean, comfortable bed and great location near the river. Front desk employees were friendly. We had dinner in the bar because the other restaurant was too formal and pricey for what we prefer. Service and food was good.

The Limerick Strand is a very good hotel in a perfect location on the river Shannon. Our family stayed on New Year's Eve to enjoy the City of Culture events in Limerick - all of which were only a short walk across the Sarsfield bridge.

Tip: Take a leisurely walk along the river and quays. There are interesting and informative markers explaining Limerick's history and the Shannon is a beautiful river to watch, regardless of the weather.

The hotel was alive and crowded with guest celebrating NYE and a very large wedding party. Despite the full house, the staff - from the front desk to the bartenders - did a wonderful job throughout our stay. If you're driving, the Strand has a very spacious set down area and an adjacent car park - much easier and more convenient than many hotels in Ireland.

The Strand's architecture, design and decor are modern European. It has the feel and amenities of a big city hotel while being just steps from the old and historic narrow streets and buildings of Limerick's city center.

Our rooms were beautifully appointed and equipped with exceptional views - request a river view. The Strand has an excellent bar which, not surprisingly, was packed well into the early hours of the New Year. Again, despite the crowd, the service was very good.

The standard Irish breakfast in the morning was also above average. Again, you may want to request a table with a river view - a beautiful way to take your time and enjoy a memorable view before you depart.

Room Tip: Make sure to request a river view for both your room and in the dining room.

Very nice hotel the rooms were large and beautiful. The beds were awesome. We had a great view. The kids swan in the pool and it was very warm and clean. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was great and the breakfast was also very good the next morning just a little pricey.

For all of you girls that need timeout to recharge either on your own or with your friends, can I suggest this hotel. Situated in Limerick city, you can park up and stroll over the river Shannon to visit the shops and have lunch out. Back at the hotel, the food is excellent, served up by competent, friendly staff who are more than willing to converse with you. The decor is modern and the rooms have all the facilities expected.
The bar has a good lively atmosphere and plenty of staff so the you are not kept waiting for service. In terms of value, certainly no complaints. We will be returning again.
