I was here on business for a weekend. Good hotel, meets the standards. Good location, good bar. Breakfast in the morning seems like it was good, but I've never been a fan of the traditional Irish breakfast. There was a very nice, large wedding in the hotel during my stay. Worth the price if you don't want to gamble on a Euro hotel. Great views of the harbor in my room. I would compare it to a Marriott. I vaguely remember some form of a band at the bar, but I do remember the shots of Jameson that were coming at me from all directions from the locals after they found out we are American. Great hospitality by the locals- maybe that's why I don't care for the traditional Irish breakfast?

Room Tip: I took a lot of pictures of the harbor from my room

My wife and I have stayed at the Strand Hotel Limerick on several occasions.
Anyone that is looking for a hotel to stay in Limerick should look at the Strand Hotel, it has a great location 5 minutes from city centre just over the bridge.
The staff are friendly and helpful the rooms are modern and clean.
It has a leisure centre with swimming pool.
Anyone looking to stay in Limerick City in this their year as City of Culture should look no further.
Look forward to returning soon.

We stayed at the Strand for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff at check in, check out and throughout our stay were incredible friendly and helpful. The location is superb with an easy walk to town, or the castle, or into the neighbouring suburbs where we needed to attend a wedding.

Our room was very well appointed and was very clean when we arrived. Unfortunately as we were in and out of the room the second day we never actually received our daily housekeeping service, although I'm sure a quick call to the desk would have righted the situation. The bathroom was nice and big and had both a shower and a tub.

We had a breakfast and a lunch at the hotel and the food was great at both meals. The service is a bit spotty when you are seated in the bar, but I think that's more of an Ireland thing than specific to this hotel (see what tipping does for us North Americans! Excellent service has a price!).

Really great spot though and I'd recommend it to anyone staying in the area or passing through.

I stayed here with a group of women in March 2014 and really enjoyed my stay in this fantastic hotel. The rooms were fab ,the food even better and the staff very friendly and helpful. we had treatments (tasters) in the spa and would have to say the staff here were lovely and really put us at ease . The hotel is in a great location a short walk to the main shopping area.

The location was great for walking around in Limerick. Our family of 4 stayed on the 4th floor. We had a good view of Johns Castle and the River Shannon. The room was big, but the bathroom was not that clean. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but too expensive when they charged the same for little kids. Best to eat there on Sunday so you can get crepes and omelets made, included in the price.

Room Tip: Try the bakery across the street. Breakfast was good at the hotel, but not good enough to charge for...

Hotel is well located in Limerick and has inexpensive underground car-parking (€6 overnight). The centre of the city is only 5 mins walk away and strolls along the river in either direction are easy and worthwhile. Rooms are bright with air-con but those on the lower floors at the front of the hotel can be noisy. Breakfast has a bewildering range of food and will easily set you up for the day. Staff are very professional and helpful too. Excellent business or leisure hotel - we didn't get a chance to try out the leisure centre!

We stayed here on the 1st June 2014. My wife booked through a deal website. On the day before we checked in we got bad news about a family member had passed away and we rang hotel about canceling the room. We were told to ring the company we booked it with as they would charge us if we didn't but the company office was closed. So we decided to stay. When we checked him the room was canceled by hotel as we had asked. We were still given a room no problem at all. staff were only to happy to help us. We were told at check in the there was a problem with the ty service and they had someone coming in to fix it. Which was done within a couple of hours. The room was very big and cosy mini fridge and free wifi. Every floor has a place to get beside lifts. We will be back to stay here again soon. We hopefully plus 1.

Room Tip: Look for room on top floor as nice views.
