i was here at the strand for my debs night and the meal hot but no vegetarian option and we had to wait 15 minutes to go in to the lounge area and they would not give over 18s alcahol drinks and they were nice other wise.

We were booked into the Strand Hotel through an Ireland travel tour package. We are pleasantly surprised by and extremely pleased with the hotel. Its location at the heart of the city is extremely convenient and the room is beautifully decorated with super comfy pillows and bed. The staff are also very helpful and informative. We have a fabulous view of the Shannon river, King John's Castle and St Mary's Cathedral from our floor to ceiling window. Love it!! We will definitely stay here again. There's also a lovely poor and fitness center in the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at this high class hotel. When we unloaded our bags we asked the staff a few questions about the town. The took the time to go over a town map a show a few places to go and visit(one King James Castle a must see) and a few places to eat. They never tried to push the restaurants at the hotel one us,they first pointed out a few places in town and then just threw them in at the last minute. We ended up eating at the hotel the food was great and is was at a fair price.

Room Tip: Every room is great. Also had a US plug in the room a true plus.

Stayed for 1 night and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a family room and it was clean, spacious and the air conditioning was a welcome bonus.
We arrived late for breakfast so the restaurant was a bit messy but the food was delicious. Perhaps they should have 1 staff member serving pancakes and another serving omelettes as the queue was way too long and the poor guy trying to do both was under a bit of pressure.
The leisure centre was great and our little 4 year old had a great time in the pool.
Shame they don't have a kids club during the summer months as this might have enticed us to stay longer.
Overall, a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Came here with my partner for a meal in the restaurant, which the strand really had done a lot bragging about on their website and in brochures etc. I ordered fish and wasn't given a fish knife. The food was decent but far below what we expected. Went into hotel bar afterwards with the hope of a quiet drink. Television was blaring and there was a seedy drunk man sauntering around the bar who should have been thrown out straight away. Its really a shame because the design and coziness of the bar is very appealing and there's an outdoor terrace with a view of King John's Castle and the Shannon. Overall hotel style and design is good but service and food could do with a rigourous overall...

I stayed here recently with my husband on a trip from Dublin. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk over the bridge to the city centre - so it is in an excellent location. It's a modern hotel, with a nice foyer, glass lifts and overlooks the river Shannon. The rooms are quite large - with comfortable beds and good sized bathroooms.

We didn't eat at the hotel as we were heading to a barbeque on the Friday evening - but we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - and I love to see a chef on duty ready to make you an omelette or freshly fried/poached eggs to suit. The range of fruit, yogurts, meats and cheeses in addition to the hot buffet was really excellent.

The sun was shining, the city was alive and a great buzz - I would recommend this hotel to families and couples - or groups of girls travelling to Limerick. The only disappointing thing was that the spa has recently closed! The other facilities are great.

Room Tip: Choose a sunny room overlooking the river - even if you have to pay a small supplement!
